Guest guest
Cheryl, It sounds like you should just buy stock in supplements. Just kidding It sounds like phenol issues are present from all the info. I'm no expert but I think the enzymes are really important and they are not like supplements in that they just digest the foods they are geared towards and do nothing else. Side effects we noticed were more from adjustment than from my son's system not tolerating them (as with most supplements we tried). I would recommend starting with the basic Zyme Prime and then maybe trying no-fenol a little later. I would start slow and work up, with just 1/4 capsule and then move up to more gradually. I think you may see die-off stuff because there were digestion issues indicated. Again, I am no expert but am fast becoming a major advocate of enzymes. We have seen remarkable changes and it is very logical. The enzymes do their job and then leave. They are like ideal employees and family and friends. Good luck. It sounds like you are working very hard. It's nice to see that. One last thing, don't forget to let go from time to time. You sound a lot like me. So you might want to consider No-Fenol enzyme first. http://www.danasview.net/phenol.htm > What would you recommend trying next? If enzymes, which ones? If the > other supps - which ones? I would consider enzymes first, because many times, using enzymes allows your child to get the required nutrients from food, making other supplements unnecessary. Guest guest
Hi Cheryl, I agree that enzymes are good start because they may eliminate the need for several other supplements and food eliminations. After we started enzymes, I saw a jump in improvement plus I did not see any additional improvement afterwards trying other things...except for magnesium. That one is noticeable. The tests sound rather good overall. Tests only show certain things. What improvements do you see with the L-glutathione? I would suggest start with the Zyme Prime, then at Peptizyde, then No-Fenol (or the No-fenol before the Peptizyde because it sounds like you have a little problem with phenols). THEN, try the other stuff if you feel it is necessary. My choice would be DMG/TMG because you might see improvement or negatives right away (my son went bonkers on DMG). Then B12, then the other stuff. . P.S >>>The enzymes do their job and then leave. They are like ideal employees and family and friends. I love this line! Guest guest
Thank you for your supportive response. I do have quite a little vitamin shoppe going, don't I? I have bought trial bottles of a number of these things when I hear about what they may do. But, I keep reading and learning more about the integrated system our body is - and rather than just 'try stuff', I am being cautious - trying to really understand what something will do & why. I obviously don't want to cause harm,I want to try what could help my particluar child and I want to be able to go slow enough to see what helps and what doesn't. But there is so much to read/learn and so much to try! I have no idea how everyone gets it all in their kids. That might be one of my motivations in trying to pick the next best thing. My kid is starting to get resistant to taking more supps, there is only so much I can get in him - so I want the biggest bang for the buck. Don't we all? Let go from time to time.... My husband would laugh at that concept. Thank you again - your advice looks good to me, Cheryl > > Cheryl, > It sounds like you should just buy stock in supplements. Guest guest
Thank you for your advice. My sons nutrient profile was not bad - the DAN doc wasn't even convinced he needed more vitamins. We should just fix up his diet -- (yeah right!) Guest guest
Thank you for your nice response. I added some comments below. > > The tests sound rather good overall. Tests only show certain things. That is true. I think told me a picture of a cloud is not a cloud. I need to remember that:) > What improvements do you see with the L-glutathione? I can't be sure I saw much improvement with this or from Vitamin C. I started both close to the same time. I only give him one L- glutathione capsule a day. (can't remember the strength). I understand it is not well absorbed by the gut anyway. [i have had NAC & selenemethionine recommended as substitutes.] The results were subtle but important - more communicative, more playful, more aware of his body temperature, and way less argumentative. > > I would suggest start with the Zyme Prime, then at Peptizyde, then > No-Fenol (or the No-fenol before the Peptizyde because it sounds > like you have a little problem with phenols). Then B12, then the other stuff. I'll give it a go, probably over the Christmas holidays when I am home to monitor him all day. Then I have to trust the babysitter to help out. Thank you again! -- Cheryl
Guest guest
i would say that was way too much vitamin c selenomethione can be started immeadiatly as it doesn't seem to impact anything else and is supplying an essential nutrient, but i wouldn't take too much, say 50 mcg. also it works synergisitcally with vitamin c and you can cut vitamin c back. suprisingly tmg and dmg are more different than i have been led to believe, like tmg appears not to have a good effect but dmg is ok. i think becuase i eat a lot of liver and will have a lot of b-12 from that so i don't need the extra methylation of tmg, indeed if i take tmg i will be overmethylting. dmg gives a lot of bang for buck for some pople so it would be interesting to try, and if he did better on tmg that would tend to mean he was severely metal toxic i think. he would be a candidiate for no fenol i think i do have a question mark about dmg/tmg but some certainly seem to do well on them. > Hi all! Guest guest
It took me 3 months to figure out how to get supplements into my son . I divide hard tablet into 3 or 4 pieces(his dose / 3 or 4) put them in enough water to dissolve them add things that are powder add a little honey and give with eyedropper.
