Hi guys,

I have a 3 yr old son dx'd with PDD-NOS. He is gf/cf and a few

weekends ago had a big infraction. Needless to say that week was

horrible for him and the rest of us too. I started him on Kirkmans

DPP-IV this week and feel sure that the problems I am seeing are

related to this. The first day he was on it he was great, the next 3

days have been HORRIBLE. He has had lots of runny stools (the kind

that burn) and his poor little bottom is raw. He cries constantly,

is more violent and I guess i would be the same way if my bottom was

like his. I have been using creams/and or powders but so far nothing

has worked. Has anyone else experienced a problem like this? I have

stopped giving the Enzyme. Does this problems seem like it would be

caused by the DPP-IV. Any ideas as to why his body is reacting like

this, and how long does this stay in the system?? Any ideas would be

SO GREATLY appreciated!!

My 8 yr. old daughter with Aspergers also takes them and we've seen

nothing at all bad like this with her, actually only good things.

Thanks for any advice.

Sorry to hear your little guy is in so much pain! I would be cranky

too. Does he have any yeast problems and this could be a yeast

reaction or some sort? How has his behavior been off the enzymes?

Does he get much soy in his diet. I am keeping in mind the recent

post by Lori K too. At least stop the DPP IV for now until he

stabilizes, and then you might want to start at a much lower dose.

I think Desitin or something similar clears up rashes pretty quickly.
