Do many of you have > handicapp parking permits? How do you feel about it, I went into a wheelchair 11 years ago just so I would not be left out of everthing. It took a great readjustment in my thinking but it has given me a great feeling of independence - mine is electric. in the last 2 years I have been to the US and Canada and done a round trip from the UK to Bangkok to Australia on to Hong Kong and back to UK. The chair was essential and the airlines were very helpful. You do need to get ramps to drive the chair into and out of the back of an estate wagon type car. I also have a disabled parking badge but since I'm UK my experience probably would not be useful. > I feel a little guilty for even considering getting one. never feel guilty for needing extra help - whatever kind. > Any thoughts on what this is all about? And even better, any bright ideas on >how to make it go away FAST? never diet when you are chronically ill - this is not the time. > Ros UK
Guest guest
Dear Rosemary, I will certainly pray for your son. I also have AIH but I am 53 years old and its hard for me. Its really very hard when you are young because you want to be like everyone else. I also have a daughter a senior in college and she is not as mature as other 21 year olds. As mothers all we can do is be there for them and pray! I will also say a prayer for you. Rose Freeport, NY

I would at least TRY the tincture... seems to me the 'wiseweed' folks freeze the fresh weed in ice cube trays and use it that way.... just searched and can't find what I'm looking for on it... DID find a reference to making vinegar infused jewelweed... and using THAT on poison ivy. maybe that's the 'juice' you have? does it smell vinegary? I'd hesitate with a cream tho...doesn't the rash from poison ivy benefit from drying? (that's part of what calamine lotion does, dries the skin) and a cream would keep it moist and I think more prone to irritation. but this is WAY out of my area of knowledge... hope someone else here has the answer! Guest guest
>>>this puts him back to sleep within 15minutes and he sleeps until around 6.30 and wakes up refreshed - not tired. This seems to help kick the habit of waking in the night for a while and he doesn't get really grotty and over tired.<<< I'll have to check that kind out. When we give Sammy the melatonin in the middle of the night, it still takes a while to fall back asleep and then I have to wake him for school and he is groggy and cranky. Thanks. Guest guest
>>>If you suspect a yeast issue, that could be the culprit. There's lots of info on yeast and GSE in the archives. <<< Thanks but yeast is not, and thankfully has never been, an issue with us. His BMs have always been normal and his OAT results were exceptionally clean and normal.
Guest guest
>>>>I tried 5-HTP for approx. 7 weeks with my son. A disaster! I knew his serotonin was low in 2 areas of the brain because of his PET Scan showing serotonin synthesis. No luck here - he was very irritable and noticeably better after removing it. I also was recommended to take him off it by his doctor at the Pfeiffer Treatment Center. I've heard better things about Inositol. You may want to look into that. Good Luck! Carla<<<< Thanks Carla. I'll check that out!
