usually people say all the B's, Vit C up to 1000 mg/day (although not

everyone uses that much, I don't!) and coQ10, vit E, Vit A, zinc, mag, well

really all the minerals except copper and iodine which are usually

unnecessary.

DMSA/ALA were the traditional ways to do it, say for the past several years.

then people got fed up with the gut bugs and other problems associated with

immunosuppression from these chelators so started looking for other means,

like TTFD which is from a study by Derrick Lonsdale and is used a lot by Dr.

J. McCandless. Also PCA-RX, currently being investigated by detectives on

this list. IV glut is being used by some people. Occasionally you hear

of someone using DMPS. The DMSA/ALA still appear to be the most popular,

but not easy to use.

I wish I had more answers. I'm like you.

And he says it moves metals, too, but doesn't void them (well i guess he'd

say SOME are voided) which makes me very nervous. My son eats mostly meat

(sulphur), eggs (sulphur), nuts (some sulphur), honey, and some small amount

of dried fruit (won't touch any other fruit or veg) so i give him chicken

stock made from chicken bones, carrot, celery, cabbage (sulphur), onions

(sulphur) sometimes a little garlic thrown in (sulphur).

It's enough to make you crazy.....

steve, have you tried the Immunocal or whatever that whey drink is?

yeah don't chelate. spend some time understanding metals transport

enhancement and get sustainable consistent results without

developmental retardation.

beats me how when enzymes are doing the substantial work of

restarting metals transport by improved minerals and amino acids that

everyone starts the witxchdance of oh CHELATE

this is not a chelation board, it is a very variable remedy with some

kids reacting badly enough they they never really recover you might

be advised to look at the other boards which will not sow any doubts.

I have read, even from someone who used to say " heal the gut first "

that they are now saying generally to do as much as you can to heal

the gut first, but that it may never fully " heal " until you get the

metals out. So keeping this in mind, it makes sense to do what you

CAN do and then you have to get to a point where you say, we are

ready to begin. So to my knowledge, there is no exact time frame

that is going to work for everyone.

Have you checked the autism treatment files--there is one that mentions

supplements.

We use magnesium, vitamin C, vitmin E, taurine, some multiminerals,

some CLO, epsom salt baths, a homeopathic support called Met-Ex,

potassium. We are using DMSA only at this point. Ten rounds into it

and my son is still dumping mercury higher than the reference range

so until it lowers, I will not add ALA into the mix.

We have had really good results with chelation-- my son lost his SID

diagnosis about 8 rounds into chelating. I have a little writeup on

chelation that contains links that I found helpful when still in

the " thinking " stage of it all, so if you want it, email me

privately. maryandphilip@...

Hi

How did you test this please? Are you doing some sort of very frequent

testing and if so, what and how please?

Thanks

For many kids, the gut is not healed until the metals are removed. So

I would say the gut " issues " should be " under control " as much as

possible.

You can read recommendations from DAN and from Andy. I have links to

their protocols here

http://www.danasview.net/chelate.htm

Also, I've read about so many

There are several chelators and several " possible " chelators. Which

ones were you interested in pursuing more information?
