I've heard that up to 8 years old you can see dramatic improvements by chelation (and I mean the DMSA/ALA/DMSO kind but after that not so much. What's your take on this. Anyone else? Andy Cutler once told me that at age 8, something begins maturing in the brain. I forget exactly what, but something is whispering in my ear " adrenal function " . But anyway, I guess at age 8 the brain starts doing things, so chelating before that age is more helpful, so that part can mature without the interference of metals. But my #1 is age 8-1/2 and I am seeing improvement with him, and others are chelating even older kids, so it is not a " magic cut off age " that chelating after that age would be pointless. That's all I know tho. Dana
Guest guest
Hi Interesting I have efriend here in UK, who is finding yeast flare ups on MTP also which is making me think its more a metals moving out thing than chelator???? Who knows, I just keep going............ Mandi > The yeast problem... I don't think ALA aggravates it more than DMSA. Guest guest
This is my biggie concern right now since my daughter turns 9 next month...I feel time is of the essence. I worry that she will start having a hard time in school during chelation, but feel like I can't afford to wait until summer break....I keep putting the hair test off for one reason and another (we are moving into a new house soon...I would hate to really throw her.) What to do..... - -- In , " danaatty <danaatty@y...> " <danaatty@y...> wrote: > > > > > Can I just ask you if you think that there is a kind of time limit > for our > > kids? Guest guest
> I keep putting the hair test off > for one reason and another It is A LOT easier to just buy some ALA and try it. Small doses, every 3 hours (including during the night), for a few days then take a break. Give vitamins, supplements, minerals... watch her You will see for sure if your daughter needs chelation or not. Valentina
Guest guest
Valentina, You know much more about chelation that I do, but if you were to jsut try chelation without first testing would't it be best to go with DMSA at first in case there were copper, sulphur or yeast issues? Just wondering... Steve > > I keep putting the hair test off > > for one reason and another > > It is A LOT easier to just buy some ALA and try it. Guest guest
> You know much more about chelation that I do, Thank you The truth is that I don't know that much. I try to figure out what the heck is happening and I read a lot about it... > but if you were to jsut > try chelation without first testing would't it be best to go with > DMSA at first in case there were copper, sulphur or yeast issues? There are a lot of problems that might appear with ALA and also A LOT of problems that might appear with DMSA use. I don't know Steve. I guess it depends on your child, but as you probably know already, even when you test and test and test and you think you do exactly what's best as the tests indicate, it's still not always the best thing, your child might still have problems, who knows why... some other " thing " that you didn't think about yet. In my opinion... I like ALA better. Somehow I am a little more afraid of DMSA. With ALA I think the only serious problem is copper (if it's too high), but other than that... everything can be taken care of, while you chelate. (if you have a copper problem you have to take some time... about 2-3 weeks I think, to take a lot of zinc, and try to lower it). The yeast problem... I don't think ALA aggravates it more than DMSA. I think when you chelate your body needs a lot of support (vitamins/supplements) and I think that if you give your body enough nutrients, if you keep your neutrophils happy (as somebody else put it) you shouldn't have problems. Well, not so big as some parents seem to have. Actually I always had the impression that ALA doesn't aggravate yeast so bad as DMSA does. When I started chelation (a year ago) I was in Romania. I didn't have any of the chelators, I didn't have any possibility to test for anything... But I was convinced that I have to try chelation, because my kid was in a very sad condition. Pretty low functioning and... he was just eating me alive And besides, I didn't have ANY doctor that had any idea about " what " and " how " . I started chelation with ALA. I had no idea if it will work or not. Well... now, after a year, my son is not autistic anymore. He improved A LOT! And I really hope that all the parents will find the courage to try chelation. It's scary, but it's not so complicated. It only sounds like Valentina

I don't know Mandi... When I started chelation, my son was full of yeast and parasites. After about 4 months (more or less, I can't remember exactly anymore) he got better and better, and I can't say we had a real problem since then. We never used any anti-fungal or anything... Just the usual vitamins/supplements. Who knows... Somehow I have this theory that when you give your body the necessary resources to fight the " bad stuff " it will always do a better job than you would using anti-fungals and other drugs... (just my impression). Valentina
