Guest guest
I've been having a hard time getting my 5 year old to take his enzymes consistently. I read a tip that mentioned putting the enzymes in Hershey's Shell syrup. This is kind of a pain to do 4 times a day so I was wondering if these can be made in advance. I've been putting a little bit of the Shell in a mini-ice cube tray, along with the enzymes, and putting them in the freezer so they harden. Are the enzymes activated once they make contact with the syrup? I read the ingredients and it consists mostly of sugar, soybean oil, coconut oil and cocoa. I read that it's ok to put the enzymes in oils but once they get wet (like in a drink) they are activated. Also, will the freezer or refrigerator hurt them? You might want to just do it for a week and a half's worth or so. Enzyme activity increases at least exponentially as temperature rises until a certain heat and then they are destroyed. Cold preserves them. If you mix them in a liquid and keep in the refrigerator, they will remain active about 4 hours once wet and kept cold (or add ice cubes. Don't store the bottle of enzymes in the fridge though because the condensation may start to activate them and they the potency will start to decrease. Storing in a cabinet where they will be dry is good. .
