I used about 8 jars of the gummies for a while just as a 'vitamin'.

Actually the gummies just tasted really good so I gave them as a

healthy 'treat'. I liked the wafers okay too. Can't vouch one way or

the other as to improvements because we didn't use them that way.

My younger son seems seems to do better without the artificial

stuff. He was also the only one showing noticeable improvement with

No-Fenol. He does very well with No-Fenol and actual food. I didn't

really notice him being intolerant of the Juice Plus with No-Fenol -

he was already taking NF when taking Juice Plus. I think the NF

would work well with Juice Plus because it is a whole food

supplement.

I've never heard of it--what is it?!

Juice Plus?

I am a new Vitamix user, and I've just been introduced to a very intriguing product called Juice Plus. I was hoping for some feedback from others. Have any of you tried using Juice Plus?

It is not intended to make you feel different...it offers a great nutritional base to help provide your body with whole food sources most people do not get the full recommended amount of daily.  I do appreciate your feedback...this is the kind of stuff I do want to hear and learn about as I continue my career in nutrition, so I can learn how to work with people to offer them the resources out there, and to learn about the experiences they have had with the different resources they have tried.  Thank you.

My Mother was sick with terminal cancer that she passed away from just over 2 months ago.  During that time the doctors were only ever interested in if she was or was not eating as far as her nutrition went...and until the end, I never had any problems with her eating...and I do believe it is because I did do everything I could as a non-medical person to research many resources to try and help keep her healthier...and I learned so much over that time, which is why I decided to go back to school for dietetics so I can offer something else.  This product is right in line with something my Mother needed, and I did not know about at the time.

It is this really cool nutrition product, and there is an insane amount of

research from very reputable sources backing up the benefits of taking this.

It is in a simple capsule form...here is the website for you to be able

to look up the information so you can see for yourself (www.juiceplus.com).

I

am getting ready to go back to school for dietetics, so I have been looking

into other areas so once I am a RD, I can offer my clients a variety of

assistance based on what they are/are not open to, so when Juice Plus was

introduced to me, I actually signed up after doing some research to be a

distributor.

I'm not looking to start an argument here, but I would expect to feel different (better) if I was ingesting a great nutritional base to help provide my body with whole food sources that I don't get the full recommended amount of daily. Just my opinion.

Anything that is processed into a capsule form has lost most of it's nutritional integrity through heating, dehydrating, and further processing. I remember when V8 first came out and was the nutritional craze, I jumped right on it-had to have my V8 every day to feel like I was doing something "good" for my body. When I turned 20, I started juicing REAL juice, and that's when I did my homework on things like V8 and supplements. V8 is DEAD food, heavily processed and full of sodium, making it not really nutritious at all. Same for supplements. Nutrition is in raw, unprocessed foods, and each processing step takes them further down the nutrition ladder. Once a fruit or veggie is cooked, it loses its enzymes and cell wall structure, so to get the full effect, it needs to be juiced raw. JUICE PLUS is not different.

Common sense should tell ANYONE that there is no way to pack a boadload of veggies and fruits into a pill and expect it to have the same nutritional benefit as if you ate those veggies. That would be like saying you could take that very pill for a meal replacement=just won't cut it. Also, I have learned the hard way via food allergies that the body is not designed to try to assimilate many ingredients all at one time. Sure, it can handle 3 or 4 varieties of fruits and veggies in a smoothie, but to concentrate hundreds of things in a pill, to expect the body to assimilate them all is unrealistic. I say give your body a few RAW, ORGANIC, FRESH, WHOLE goodies to absorb the nutrients from. Just my opinion, of course, but I am a certified nutritionist, as well as a life long juicer and foodie. I don't see clients for nutrition, but if I did, I would recommend whole foods over supplements any day. As pointed

out, there are times when supplements can be helpful, such as when someone is unable to eat, but I think too many people get a false sense of security from them, thinking they can replace good nutrition. From: Cone <nicoleacone@...>Subject: Juice Plus? Date: Saturday, January 8, 2011, 1:33 PM

Yeah...but the sad thing is that the majority of the population is not getting the real thing, so this helps to bridge the gap for the majority. On Sat, Jan 8, 2011 at 1:07 PM, Kelley Austin <kelaus@...> wrote:

I hope no one things I am trying to start an argument either...I really am looking for input, for the different opinions and reactions.I really do hope people will do their own research and decide for themselves.  I just became a distributor yesterday to help grow my career in the nutrition world, so I am happy to provide anyone with clinical research materials...or you can go to the website and there is a section with information out there from clinical studies and the news (www.juiceplus.com).

Thank you for your help Fran!On Sat, Jan 8, 2011 at 1:32 PM, <fradal@...> wrote:

We tend to be a bit more open minded on this group than others, so I don't see

where anyone would take ANY of this thread as starting an argument. I certainly

didn't. We may all have different opinions, but that is how we all learn from

each other. What a boring bunch we would be if we all thought the same :)

I had the same experience, when I started drinking Green Smoothies, cut out sugar, and got off of wheat, my energy level soared!

Isn't it sad that we pay doctors for answers, but largely have to research the truth for ourselves? I was diagnosed with leukemia years ago and told to "get my affairs in order". This came on top of a life long diagnosis of lupus, and I was in pretty rugged shape. Had I listened to the doctors, I would have been plant food a LONG time ago, but I healed myself not only from the leukemia, but other chronic ailments too, by educating myself about the mechanics of the diseases and nutrition. My knowledge of food and chemicals is hard earned, for certain, but I figure what I am teaching my daughter and how I feed her, has made it all worth it!
