If you open your mouth really wide and look, you will probably see a " blister

or sore " way in the back of your throat...........they sometimes actually

hurt. I don't really think it has anything to do with Lyme........but I have

been wrong in the past LOL......sounds like a viral thing that will go away

in a couple of days or a week or so. Mona

Any idea what's causing this?

My NT 6 yr old daughter also sleeps with the light on. Could just be a

comfort thing.

Laurie thank you for your words of caution about kids under 17 attending the

movie. In Denver we have heard from movie goers who saw 11 and 12 year olds

crying hysterically and then having nightmares. I heard Mel Gibson being

interviewed and he said definitely not to take children to see it.

When I was 11 I was taken to see the original " Mighty Joe Young the Gorilla. "

I did not grow up with TV so I was not used to it. I had nightmares from

that film and until I went away to college I checked under the bed for that

gorilla. I would have checked then but my roommate would have told someone. I

finally saw the movie in the 80's just to check it out. It was the dumbest,

most fake, puppet like movie ever made. I can't believe I was so effected.

Imagine if I had watched something as violent as " The Passion of Christ. "

My advice is keep the kids at home and show it to them on DVD when they are

at least 15.

OMG, Hal that is so funny! ROFLOL I love it!

Alice, I'm not sure what the problem is. I don't have any trouble at all

with the listserv from Emporia State U, they come right to my inbox.

and MSN group digests come right through, too. This is the first time I've

encountered this problem with putting the listserv on my safe list and the

messages still going to junk mail.

Bernard this is info for herbal essential oils. But if you cant have

it on your body you also are suppose to be careful with eating it too.

I have not had any problems with it, but then again I have it once in

a great while. But I am going to be a little more cautious with creams.

We use lots of herbs in cooking regularly. Charlie's seizure frequency and

duration and meds doses have decreased over time NOT because we stopped

seasoning our food but because we added omega 3 fatty acids and virgin coconut

oil,

among other things. We regularly use rosemary with no problem for Charlie and

had 15 large rosemary plants in our bay window through the winter.

Essential oils should NEVER be used without proper dilution by anyone,

irregardless of seizure activity or not.

Just like drinking too much diet pop with aspartame can induce seizures, too

much of anything can do the same, including essential oils. Balance is key.

Knowing you body and what triggers your seizures is critical. See the book,

The Epilepsy Workbook by Donna s, PhD..... who brought her own

significant seizures activity under control and then went on to earn a PhD in

Clinical

Psych so she could help others gain control and improve the quality of their

lives......

Not too unlike our own Zoe here and Arnold, too.

Well, time to put a drop of essential oil of Lavendar on Charlie's pillow to

help him drift off the sleep. He is in a lot of pain from the infection in

his lower abdomen. I do not know how long we will be in this hospital.

Subject: Help! Stress!

Hi, all.

My son is 11, epilepsy, obviously, with cerebral palsy. His dad and I

are splitting up and it is extremely stressful and tension-filled

here. He is quite upset at what is going on and I have noticed he is

complaining of stomach pain and headache and his seizures have

increased. Is this normal? Any suggestions on what I can do? I have

reassured him as much as I possibly can, but my husband will not even

discuss any of this with the kids. He has his head in the sand. Any

suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Epsom salt bath and chamomile tea (unless he is allergic to ragweed) then try

something like the liquid www.naturalcalm.net

Teach him to meditate, play gentle soothing music, place a drop or two of

Lavendar oil where he spends a lot of time.

Does he get adequate B vitamins in his diet?

Why can't we have rosemary. Rosemary extract, oil, seasoning, tea? They all

vary, but why?
