NF does not work for all fruits for all kids. So it may have been the

blueberries. For my son, I will see a reaction, depending on the

food, anywhere from 10 minutes to 3 days after eating it.

Thanks, Dana. I always appreciate your input on the phenol stuff. We

did go ahead & add a little NF today & tonight she was bonkers

(hyper/wild). I'm hoping that's a good thing! When we last tried

wheat/corn we got the spacey, out of it kid, then the next day got

meltdowns. With the phenols it's the hyper/wild. NOt really the ADHD

hyper (my other kid is like that!) but kind of this wild-animal type

hyper, if that makes sense. She's very verbal (Aspergers) so getting

her to talk about it helps if we can get it out of her. Thanks again!

>>> We have had our daughter on a gluten-free, corn-free,

preservative-free, yeast-free, etc., diet (not casein as she does

not react to it, from both our observations and food sensitivity

testing). I'm finally reintroducing enzymes (Pep. & ZP) to see if

she can tolerate some of the foods.

Wow, I hope so. That must be a hard regime to follow. How long have

you been on-diet? I am wondering about the time for gut-healing.

>>>My question is: how long after eating a certain food can initial

reactions be seen? Is it more likely that reactions today were based

on food she ate today rather than on food she ate yesterday?

Any time from what I read. Right away or the next day.

>>> No Fenol didn't seem to do much when I used it alone. I just

read the posts on constipation w/ the ZP, so maybe I need to try

using Pep w/ NF rather than ZP as constipation has been a really bad

problem.

That might be. How is your daughter today?

For us the phenolic reactions are instant. The red cheeks seem to come even

before he is finished eating, of course he is a slow eater. But for us, when

tomatoes or berries used to be a problem it was within an hour we'd see the

physical reaction, and shortly after that the behavioral reaction.

Enzymes & reaction time

We have had our daughter on a gluten-free, corn-free, preservative-

free, yeast-free, etc., diet (not casein as she does not react to it,

from both our observations and food sensitivity testing). I'm finally

reintroducing enzymes (Pep. & ZP) to see if she can tolerate some of

the foods. We've been giving them with all meals (on the diet). We

decided to test some of her " no-no " foods. Yesterday was a piece of

bread & graham crackers. She did not seem to react at all to it. In

fact, my husband thought she was quite clear thinking. She seemed

okay today until after we had breakfast, gluten free blueberry

muffins. She also had been sneaking in & eating blueberries last

night & today. I know she does react to salycilates/phenols, so her

reactions after breakfast could have been to that. My question is:

how long after eating a certain food can initial reactions be seen?

Is it more likely that reactions today were based on food she ate

today rather than on food she ate yesterday?

No Fenol didn't seem to do much when I used it alone. I just read the

posts on constipation w/ the ZP, so maybe I need to try using Pep w/

NF rather than ZP as constipation has been a really bad problem.

Thanks for any input!

Lori
