Guest guest
Well, this sounds like an allergy reaction. If you know he isn't allergic to the chocolate, you better hold off on the enzymes for now. That much enzymes wouldn't produce that type of reaction unless it was allergy. Since the antihistamine worked, this just adds verification. If you are still interested in enzymes, you might consider pancreatic ones. All plant ones are made the same way, so I wouldn't go with plant ones under these circumstances. You might want to ring Devin Houston and ask his professional opinion on this. I just don't think starting lower will work, nor is it worth that type of histamine reaction either. Glad he is okay. I would be really unnerved if that happened to us. . Guest guest
I freaked right out. I have to confess that I'm reluctant to give him anymore. I will email Houston's and see what they think. Any ideas on what to do with 6 bottles of unopened enzymes? Debbie Re: Urgent Help Needed Well, this sounds like an allergy reaction. Guest guest
Do you think it could be a reaction to the chocolate? Urgent Help Needed I need some urgent advice please. Kyson ate some of the chocolates that I had mixed up with enzymes this morning. He got a dose somewhere between 1 1/2 and 2 capsules of Prime Zyme, AFP and NF. Within half an hour his top lip swelled up, his face went very red with white welts and red dots on it, his feet and hands got really itchy and his hands swelled up. I took him to the hospital and they gave him Phenergan (antihistamine) and he is fine now. I am wondering what this means. Has he been having a mild reaction to all of the enzymes since we started 2 weeks ago? He has been complaining of itchy feet and has had a milder red rash all over his face a few times which I put down to the GSE effecting the yeast. What should I do now, stop completely and start again with say 1/4 cap of one of the enzymes. If so which one. Should I then add a second one after 2 or 3 weeks. Has anyone ever heard of this before? I am uncertain about giving him anymore but have 2 1/2 bottles of each and don't want to give up yet. Debbie
Guest guest
No, he's had it before heaps of times. Debbie Re: Urgent Help Needed Do you think it could be a reaction to the chocolate? Urgent Help Needed I need some urgent advice please. Kyson ate some of the chocolates that I had mixed up with enzymes this morning. He got a dose somewhere between 1 1/2 and 2 capsules of Prime Zyme, AFP and NF. I took him to the hospital and they gave him Phenergan (antihistamine) and he is fine now. I am wondering what this means. He has been complaining of itchy feet and has had a milder red rash all over his face a few times which I put down to the GSE effecting the yeast. This sounds like an allergic reaction to the papain/bromelain in the Zyme Prime. A child in my local support group did exactly this. If you are brave enough to try enzymes again, don't try that one.
