Hi - I have a 3.8 daughter with apraxia and went to an

allergist/immunologist who also gave her nystatin for the overgrowth of

yeast and put her on a very strict sugar free/yeast free diet. It was very

positive. I can't say she started talking but she was much more " there " ,

focused and less distractible.

Hi!

There's been some chatter about yeast and diets lately here.

I would just like to share what is happening with me and my son (4

5).

About a month ago I went to see a nutritionist regarding my son for MANY

reasons.

He had a milk allergy when he was born-we went through 5 formulas until we

settled with the alimentum. Also, has had a lot of ear infections

and was on quiet a bit of antibiotics. ANd as we speak he is on an

antibiotic for a month (he has Lyme) THe poor kid has no luck.

He appears moody. ANd I just noticed lately rings under his eyes. Only the

past 3 days-he may have allergies, I am beginning to log this.

Anyway, over the past month I did do a urine and stool test. The urine

came up with a high amount of yeast. People commented that they weren't

surprised. And his stool came up with a bacteria problem. Anyway, I am not

going on a specific diet at this time. I am just cutting back on sweets and

eliminating the dyes. The nutritionist first gave me a big bottle of COD

LIVER OIL that contains high EPA and DHA. She is also putting my son on

nystatin to get rid of the yeast in his gut.

The book she had me order was " Biological Treatments for Autism and PDD " by

Shaw Ph.D. This is supported by DAN doctors.

I will be eventually testing my son for allergies.

The nutritionist is very positive that I will see results.

I will keep you all posted.

THis is very new to me this road.

is diagnosed with apraxia/global developmental delay

SI issues are becoming more clearer and some processing problems we are

seeing
