Guest guest
Hello, These results are from an autistic young man. We used the counting rules and they do indicate a high probability of abnormal mineral transport/mercury poisoning. Please post any comments or advice for us. I was disappointed to see that he apparently is not excreting mercury. Is high Nickel common in autism? We have not chelated, but he's been on Lipoceutical Glutathione and many supplements. Thanks! Guest guest
, When i contacted DDI by email about external hair contamination here is what I was told: I asked in reference to external Lead contamination by vapors in the workplace (my DH solders all day), and whether or not it would skew his hair results and make the hair Lead levels falsely high. They stated that no, because they use a washing process before they test the hair and thus only extract what is contained inside the hair, so the levels would come only from what was released into the hair from the body when the hair shaft was formed. Just food for thought, since his other hair test also had high bismuth, I would suspect his bismuth is high. > > > > > > Hello, > > > Here are my 5-yr old son's hair results (taken just over a year > > > ago). You might want to verify for yourself that the vaccines were supposedly mercury free. Often the docs don't know what is on their shelves. Guest guest
This hair test does not meet the counting rules, but it is suspicious for mercury with 12 in green. A trial of chelation is definitely warranted. The adrenal sign is present, so try some adrenal cortex extract. This will help him handle stress instead of needing to avoid it. The K/Ca ratio is pretty high suggesting a possible thyroid problem. Blood tests are more informative - free T3, free T4, TSH. Make sure you ask for the " free " values - most doctors will not do these unless you are very explicit and insist. See the supplement file for supplements and dosages recommended for chelation (at the end of the file). ALA given every 3 hours or more often, including at night, will chelate mercury from the brain and the body. Rounds are 3 or more days on and at least as many days off. Start with 1/8-1/4 mg per pound. Very slowly work up to 1/2 mg per pound only as tolerated. DMSA or DMPS are optional, but they might be helpful if he is too symptomatic on ALA alone. See the files for more information, especially Moria's website: http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/ -- > > We are trying to decide whether to chelate. Our 6-year-old son has > dx PDD-NOS.
