Guest guest
Hi all, My name's Isaiah. I'm a 25 year old woman living in lovely Oakland, CA, who just found out that in addition to all my other health problems (fibromyalgia, IBS, torn lumbar discs, etc) I may have Celiac Disease. Ugh. I am getting blood tests next week, which will likely be inaccurate since I've been on a GF diet for 2 months and when I tried to do the gluten challenge I lasted exactly 36 hours because it made me so sick ;-P I've also sent away for Enterolabs testing just to have an alternative source of information about what's going on in my gut. I think I can say with confidence I will never even attempt another gluten challenge. Anyway, someone on www.glutenfreeforums.com pointed me towards this list and I'm so happy it exists! Going GF has been hard in some ways, but it's leading me to wonderful discoveries like Socca Oven (yum) and Cafe Gratitude (the " cheesecake " is out of this world) in Berkerley, and eating healthier in general. I just made some Pamela's pancakes this morning and baked up a loaf of I Can Eat That Bread (made in Berkeley, sold at Berkeley Bowl). I'm always discovering new things, though ultimately I need to remember that I'll always be better off with less processed foods and more home-made food! I guess my #1 reason for joining this list is figuring out what local restaurants I can eat at! Isaiah
