Guest guest
We use ALA every 3 hours in the day, 4 hours at night. Only 12.5 mg for a 40 pound girl. I think 60 mg might be too high, but maybe someone else using that dose can confirm if I'm right. You can always start lower and work up to more if you want. ALA can increase yeast, which has been responsible for my daughter's excema. Make sure you use a good yeast protocol. Good luck! -------------- Original message -------------- > My name is Mandy (32) and I am new to your group. My son Kees (3,5) was born > healthy. Guest guest
Mandy, Yes, 60 mg is a very high dose especially to start with. You need to start slow and increase slowly or you just get too many side affects and frankly it really doesn't speed up recovery significantly at the higher doses anyway. Read the FILES section and it will give you all the info on getting started and things to watch for. Look for the Andy Cutler protocol. Then, if you have specific questions this is a great group to help you. Best wishes to you, Kim > My name is Mandy (32) and I am new to your group. My son Kees (3,5) was born > healthy. Guest guest
Mandy, Welcome to the group! We are glad you are here and will help you as much as we can. Many of us are old chelation pros . . . and still learning! You might want to start by looking in the files of this group and reading for a while. There is a LOT of information that can help you. I am not sure which dosis I should give him and after how many hours. You can find basic info on dose and timing here: http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/ANDY_INDEX.html > Is 60 mg every 4 hours too much (6x60 = 360 mg a day). His weight is 18 kg > and I read children can have 10 mg per kg bodyweight. What you read is a HUGE amount. Try 1.1 mg per kg of body weight, at most. (I often get the conversion of pounds to KG " backwards " , but I checked the Italian version of the above file, which has both: <http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/IT/Raccomandazioni_di_Andy.html> ) So, at the MOST, you would use 1/3 of a capsule (20 mg). That is the HIGH end of the dose range. You could use 1/4 that much -- about 5 mg per dose -- that is the low end of the dose range. If dividing into 4 parts is easier, you could also pick 1/4th of a capsule. But somewhere between 5 and 20 mg per dose. Pick where to start and stay with that amount for a while. And you need to give this EVERY THREE HOURS. Buy timers, and be really diligent about it. > > Please help me get me started. Guest guest
Hello Mandy, Have you taken a look at the supplement file in the FILES section? It can help guide you as to what supplements you might want to offer your son to make chelation easier and more successful. It also has some notes on some supplements that might help with some of the symptoms you mention. Is your son on a special diet? Sometimes changing diet can help with some of these symptoms as well. I have a document that I've made for people who are new to this. It is a bit slanted toward Canada, but if you think it might help you, I'd be happy to forward it to you. Let me know. I see that Moria has given you excellent advice on the chelation aspect of your post. Best of luck. Anita .. > My name is Mandy (32) and I am new to your group. My son Kees (3,5) was born > healthy.
