Guest guest
Dr. So is cool. He’s my allergist. I didn’t hate him, which is what counts as a good endorsement from me. He listened, told me to go see the GI for the stuff he couldn’t do, and explained stuff to me. He didn’t even treat me like I was crazy – which I’m sure you know all too well as a fellow celiac… I can’t speak for how he is with kids, but his office staff was very tolerant and indulgent of my very wild six year old. The down side is that other than getting a peak flo meter, and an allergy test that told me nothing new (other than I may not be allergic to yellow jacket stings), and a few things theirs tests said I wasn’t allergic to, even though I know I am (get me within 1 foot of mold and I can’t breathe & my lungs hurt – but their tests said I had no reaction) -- I pretty much felt like I wasted my time & energy even going in the first place. But I will say THIS: If I had to waste my time & energy, at least I had a positive experience doing it! Sorry I couldn’t be more help, Lil From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of sophie_and_martin Sent: Thursday, August 24, 2006 7:04 PM Subject: [ ] kaiser question - san francisco hello dear neighbors. I'm planing our referal for an allergist. And I'd love to hear any feedback (please send directly to my email if you dont want to share in public). Mainly, if you know any of those docs, and if you had any positive of negative feedback - related or not to the intersection between celiac and food allergies - and/or toddlers allergies. We just got a class 4 on wheat - after being 2 years gluten free!?!?!?! So I'll need the best allergist to answer our questions (who might be different from the best allergist for a peanut allergy or from an asthma allergist) - or simply an allergist with outstanding listening capacities or compassion. On the listing, I find: Dr robert Lo (south SF) Dr Serwonska (south SF) Dr Faith Bocobo (SF) Dr Calvin Sing Yip So (SF) Dr Peg Strub (SF) I'm also opened to other Kaiser ref - and will travel if there is an exeptional one. Thanks again. Sophie and (2yo)
