a few follow up questions...

Have you taken/given it? My daughter doesn't swallow pills - is it

tolerable when mixed with something to drink?

Thanks

The 40 mg of grapefruit seed extract would work on yeast for my kids.

Not sure about the other things.

Hi Naomi

Make sure you give that Candex on an empty stomach. carbohydrates break down

into sugars after digestion, some are more problematical with yeast than

others. Implement your plan first and see how you go :)

Hi,

I'm not sure if your son can do coconut, but what really works for us is

coconut oil. I use virgin organic coconut oil (tropicaltraditions.com). I

cook

with it anytime a recipe calls for oil, and I spread his bread with it when

I make grilled sandwiches.

I think that the adult dose to build up to is 4 T a day, but you have to

go very slowly, because I had die-off when I started too quickly. The child's

dose is usually a fourth of the adult's, so I would say 1 T to work up to a

day. From the research I've done, it doesn't kill the good bacteria, but

will kill most yeast. But he still might need probiotics if he has no good

bacteria, not sure what your situation is.

It worked for my and my son's nursing thrush issue that we were battling

quite a while.

Just a thought,

HTH

Hi,

We used threelac.( The yeast it contains is a good one I was told) After a while

on threelac when his yeast was lower we started on Custom Probiotics

acidophilus. (They will mix any blend that you want) 's last OATS test

showed that his yeast was gone.

I hope this helps,

Hi everyone,

Before we use the supplement, LipoCeutical Glutathione, we really

need to address our son's yeast issue. I purchased candex,

which many seem to like, but it is very difficult for us to follow

the suggested use (i.e., taking it one hour before breakfast and two

hours after dinner) because of time constraints.

I have heard some favorable things about threelac but some say it

even contains yeast. I have heard about olive leaf and oil of

oregano as well.

I'm just not sure which supplement(s) are worth a try. Has anyone

purchased a yeast-fighting product that really seems to work?

(Please include the name of the company.) We want to kill yeast

slowly as to avoid an extreme " die off " reaction.

(I heard great reports about Formula SF722 but this is formulated

for adults and not recommended for children.)

I truly appreciate any feedback!

Good probiotics are your first important tool in fighting yeast - threelac

is a good idea - it seems to work well and is easy to get in to little

kids. I use a couple others, primal defense and theralac, that work well

for my older guy. I don't know who said Threelac contains yeast, but I

wouldn't believe this. Too many people I know have had excellent luck with

it helping for me to think this could be true. Here's something I wrote

about how we've gotten rid of yeast and kept it at bay, using natural

antifungals:

Coconut oil is anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal. I recommend

a web search for coconut oil to read about its amazing properties . . .

BTW, I read recently that for an " average adult, " a diet rich in lauric

acid would be 24 grams. This can be achieved by having one of the

following: 3.5 tablespoons coconut oil, 10 ounces pure coconut milk, or

7 ounces raw coconut.

Hi nj,

This is the product I used and so have many of my friends. It does not

have any specific requirements about when to take. It can be taken with

juice, in food, however you want to get it down. It is not that costly

for a small person. You would always start with a small amount and work

up to more if needed so as not to cause a massive dieoff. If you would

like info on how to purchase contact me privately. I can fill you in on

price, etc. There is also more complete information on the science

website if you want to view that.

Macrophage Candidicidal Activity of a Complete Glyconutritional

Formulation Versus ALoe Polymannose

By Stanley S. Lefkowitz and Doris L. Lefkowitz

Candida affects a large number of women during their lifetime, and is

responsible for numerous hospital acquired infections. The present study

was designed to determine which carbohydrate preparations would enhance

macropahge killing of Candida in vitro. Five preparations were tested

without knowledge of their nature. Murine peritoneal macrophages

collected from C57BL/6 mice were incubated with the various

preparations. After incubation, the macrophages were washed and

incubated with Candida. A microscopic fluorescent staining technique was

used to identify live and killed Candida. Preparation #3 was the most

effective in activating macrophages, resulting in up to 90% killing of

Candida. This preparation was subsequently indentified as Ambrotose. The

other preparations, which included polymannans and precursors of

Ambrotose were less effective.

This study was done by the Fisher Institute for Medical Research

Hi Regina,

Thanks so much for the information! I am very glad to hear that

your son's yeast is gone.

Regina, did your child experience any physical signs of a

yeast die-off reaction? My son just started getting a couple

of little, red bumps under his mouth and I am wondering if

this is a manifestation of the yeast die-off. Perhaps it may

also be a rash from the cod liver oil that I am giving to

him every other day. Alternatively, it may be simple a reaction

to drooling. It is so hard to diagnose the cause!

If anyone has observed these little, red bumps on their child's

face (particularly under the mouth) and can possibly relate

the cause, please let me know.

Yes.

Not for the same reason, but yes, so long as it is unsweetened

grapefruit, it does not actively increase yeast as much as other fruits.

cranberry/raspberry juice

No, unless it also contains grape juice or high fructose corn syrup.

Those are high phenol fruits tho. Is your child okay with phenols?

> I also like to blend frozen blueberries in the smoothies. Would this

promote yeast?

Somewhat, not as much as other fruits tho.
