Forskolin, caffeine, tyrosine. Andy--can you explain how forskolin helps with attention? VRP's website lists benefits of weight loss and help with menstrual cramps, but nothing re attention. Guest guest
So...how much would you suggest for 12 year old, 150 lb boy--and how much daily? We have tried ALL of the stimulants and non (Stratterra) with worsening of attention issues. Seem to have better luck with B-50 2 x daily, and DMAE (300 mg a.m., 200 p.m.) but attention still is a huge problem for my son.

Forskolin increases cyclic AMP levels. cAMP is the second messenger brain cells make when they are stimulated by catecholamines - the very substances that all the ADHD drugs increase the activity of. Note that all the ADHD drugs used to be used for weight loss but that is no longer a legal use due to their abuse potential. I do not believe forskolin has abuse potential. Andy . . .. . Guest guest
Is there a certain protocol that one could follow using these alternative methods? My ADHD son is currently on Concerta, Eskalith, and Buspar (also dxd with Bipolar Disorder, and anxiety disorder). I just keep thinking that just like my ASD son might not TRULY have Autism, but might have symptoms due to mercury poisoning, etc. that just maybe my ADHD son may have all of his symptoms due to mercury poisoning and who knows what else. The difference we are seeing in my ASD son is remarkable, since we've started dietary intervention, supplements, etc. I just don't know where to START with my ADHD son, and am scared to mess around with his current meds, that he needs right now, anyway. Can't find a good homeopathic doc in my area, that I know and trust. Also can't afford to treat two kids with all out of pocket expenses at the same time, unfortunately. would like to help them both equally, and so am trying to look into seeing what I can do on my own. Any help is appreciated!!! ~Diane Mom to Aaren, age 3, ASD (and Branden, age 13--ADHD, etc) Subject: Re: Andy: forskolin? > persistent > > attention deficit and hyperactivity problems. > > > > Can anyone suggest safe and effective treatments for these problems. > > Forskolin, caffeine, tyrosine. > > Andy--can you explain how forskolin helps with attention?
