Nah, we're here Carole. Just crazy busy with the holidays. And today we're

waiting to get hit with 8 to 16 inches of snow. Kids are happy, just wish

that it was coming next week instead.....:)

We're here just going crazy with 's new verbal behavior program.

FINALLY Santa brought me a printer so I am having great fun printing out

photocards from the " Picture This " CD. I have to have photos for 240

words and just found out I need 3 or 4 of each in order to generalize.

Yikes.

I know there are some online picture card sources that can be printed

out~ anybody know where they are offhand? anybody care? anybody sober??

teacher. Did you check Joan's links Sherry? I'm sure you'll find plenty

there. And congrats on the new printer. We got one too. It's a scanner,

printer, fax and copier all in one. Of course, it's still sitting under the

tree!!!! Now my rice cooker......is getting plenty of use!! LOL

Maddie seems to think styrofoam is very tasty!!)

I'm here now, but we are in Arkansas and got hit with that ice storm two

weeks ago, and then again Christmas day. Been without power for 10 days all

together. Had to go live with relatives as we have all electric home!. Home

sweet home! Praying power stays on so I can catch up on e-mails.

I think ice and snow storm, and their still without power on day number 5 I

P.S.

We have snow, like 2 to 3 inches to the ground. Hope everyone has a safe

and good New Year's, as I'll be babysitting tonight. Oh what a joy, but at

least their easy to babysitt and I'm earning money.

Yeah, some people in this state; Texas, are still without power. Their was

an ice storm of a few weeks ago and then one again a couple of days before

New Year's. I hope everyone had a good Holdiay, and a good New Year's. My

Christmas was good, and my New Year's was ok.

Hi Carl,

Happy new year to you and all of the listserve.

'Subluxation-based', to me, is the acknowledgement of strucutral

misalignment/degrangement including the neural, muscular, spinal and skeletal

structures and their positioning one to another. The 'not limited to' part,

to me, is the inclusion of any organic dysfunction/misalignment and the

nutritional/herbal medicine intervention. DDXing is an 'of course' .

Knowing what I have to do to keep the public interested and returning makes

me wonder how those who work only with the spine maintain a full practice.

(No offense intended to those of you who do ... I just don't know HOW you do

it.)

Perhaps to understand "how" one maintains a full practice focusing mainly on the spine one should seek to understand "why" the focus on the spine. After 25+ years of experience I think my patients have received relief from pain, improved function and better quality of life from my work, just as patients of those focusing on nutrition, sports chiropractic, orthopedics, tmj, neurology, gyn etc. have recieved the same benefits. I work in the area of full spine practice because that is what appealed to me in my earlier days. I became fascinated by what could be improved by applying an adjustment to the spine. Perhaps when one focuses on an area of interest one attracts those who will benefit.

For what its' worth,

Rick Balsiger

Thank you for your comments. There is nothing there that I would (or

could) disagree with. As an 'old RN', (already there when I entered the DC

profession), I want to approach it all or at least as much of it as I can.

Thanks again for your comments. Sunny Kierstyn ;'-)

While I like the Renaissance version of the subluxation, my favorite is

Dr. Kent's 3-D model. Dyskinesis, dysponesis and dysautonomia.

It is the clearest and the most provable. There is in addition considerable

research for those who wish to look. Listen to the information provided

by Drs. Kent and Gentempo and watch the Journal of Vertebral Subluxation

Research. (JVSR.com)

I

would like to thank the three people you responded to my question. "What

is a subluxation?" That's probably less then 1% of the list. So

you are not the only one who gets no response. As far as Dr. Holder.

My two cents is he gets way too much PR. Whether good or bad. I still

have no answer on What a subluxation based practice is? Thanks again

to the three that responded. Carl Bonofiglio

Jan, poor you, this must hurt!

Boils on or in the eye lid are called stye here. Our family recipe

for immediate relief is a luke warm tea bag (black) on it. Close your

eyes and rest. Alternatively, you can also use chamomile. But be

careful not to touch the other eye in case it's an infection. Always

a good idea to treat both eyes (with separate tea bags!), even if

only one is affected.

Styes are a sign of stress, I've been told and you feel run down...

If it gets bigger than a grain of wheat (actually the German

translation of stye is " barley corn " ) go and see a doctor. A trobbing

headache is not something I would wait out at home in combination

with a stye.

Hope you will get better!

Take care,

Sophie

Dear Jan,

Perhaps you could put warm compresses on

it. If it is a boil that will help it to open.

Or it could be some type of conjunctivitis,

and you may need an antibiotic drop for the eye. Do rub your other eye if you

have touched it.

[ ] anyone

out there?

Hi everyone.....Ive been feeling

pretty rundown the last few days. Its Friday evening here, so no doctors or

anything till Monday. My eye socket has felt painful all day, & now have

shooting nerve pain from lower inner eye to top of outer eyebrow. Ive had a

look and it seems I may have a boil or something brewing inside the lower lid.

My question is...is their any home remedy I can use to ease it (or hopefully

get rid of it, whatever it is) to get me thru the weekend? It doesnt look like

a boil, although its v.red & inflamed. Any ideas welcome. thanks

Love Jan

Mason, I don't recall getting other than this one

mail from you, but then I could have missed it.

The group mail was messed up for a while

during the virus epidemic and that could be the

reason.

Keep posting, this one came through, so maybe

they will continue.

Welcome to the group,

Maggie
