Hi Leo. One advice I can give you is take many minerals (and vitamins). I believe ALA (and chelation in general, and possibly also natural chelation) pulls away many minerals too: particularly manganese, possibly copper, possibly zinc (despite what Andy thinks, we dont really know)... Try to taste the minerals you take: I believe if you like - dislike the taste to be a great indicator of nutritional need. Be sure not to forget trying: manganese, (molybdenum), copper, zinc, selenium, iodine. When I tried ALA I felt very short of breath and hungry, which I believe responded very well to manganese. I " m quite sure ALA chelates other metals other than mercury. Try a good vitamin B+C supplement: the best I found is solaray's " Nutritionally balanced B stress " . Plz tell me if DMSA helped you Matteo Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest guest Posted April 8, 2005 Report Share Posted April 8, 2005 Aren't you the one who just said he still had mercury in the mouth (as part of a root canal)? Stop chelating if that's the case.
I am approaching the start of my ALA sector.
I am very very frightened of doing myself in during this
psychologically testing time.
My life sucks and I have no one around me who really understands.
any constructive advice would be really gratefully received.
thanks
Leo.

=======================================================
Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest guest Posted April 8, 2005 Report Share Posted April 8, 2005 Please remind us of the details: What and when was your exposure? Vaccines? Dental? Tattoos? Power plants? Tuna? Did you get ALL the mercury amalgam out of your mouth? When? Did you have a hairtest? What did it show? What supplements do you take? Have you been chelating with something other than ALA already? What dose and dosing schedule? How long? Guest guest Posted April 9, 2005 Report Share Posted April 9, 2005 Leo, start with a very very low dose (1/8 of your body weight in pounds), supplement well, and post here if you need support. > > I am approaching the start of my ALA sector. > I am very very frightened of doing myself in during this > psychologically testing time. > My life sucks and I have no one around me who really understands. > any constructive advice would be really gratefully received. > thanks > Leo. Guest guest Posted October 4, 2008 Report Share Posted October 4, 2008 Hi , Am sorry to hear about your hip pain. If you are going to New York i would make sure i made an appointment with Dr.Su at the Hospital for Special Surgery....HSS in New York. Dr. Sue would probably you offer you a hip resurface rather than a total hip replacement and you are young and have a whole life ahead of you. I was on fosamax for 2 years and have severe osetoporosis and had a hip resurface with Dr. Amstutz in LA two years ago and it was a total success. They have the very best doc there for both total hip and hip resurface....hip resurface is bone conserving and a much better surgery for young people or people that are active. There also is a good hip replacement doc there and his name is Dr. Padgett. Been there for a long time. Dr. Su is new but a great surgeon....you may want to check out surfacehippy a board on health groups like this one for more info... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I was walking with a cane around the nurses station by Day 3 and stopped taking pain meds, except Tylenol occasionally, 9 days post- op. I went home after 4 days and within a week the PT gave me permsission to walk around the house without the cane. Yesterday I walked 2 miles and just carried my cane for securtiy. I am relatively healthy, not overweight, but was not fit because I had been in pain for 5 years due to to advancing arthritis, and had trouble walking. I would definitely recommend him. Best of luck to you. Joyce Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
