Guest guest
Dear Dana (and others): I've often read your advice to others when kids have different symptoms and usually you would say something like, my child experienced that and upping my yeast protocol helped. I don't have a " yeast protocol. " I give my kids Metagenics products - Endefen twice daily and Ultra Flora Plus (Dairy Free) twice daily. I've noticed some things that you have referred to as possible yeast symptoms (touching genitals, visual stims, scripting, etc.) They are not terribly frequent but I was wondering if I could eliminate them. I am nervous about using GSE because Andy said that it kills EVERYTHING and I've heard horror stories about bad bacteria and problems with that. I don't want to create a worse problem but if it is possible to get rid of these mild behaviors, I'd like to try. Can you make a recommendation for a yeast protocol for me? We've done five chelation rounds. 2 with DMSA only, then 3 with ALA added according to Andy's protocol (every 3 hours during the day, every 4 hours at night for 3 to 3 1/2 days). Thanks for your help. Thanks. Barbara

It has little taste, I do this on off days too and alternate with probiotics than need empty tum too. MAndi in UK

I don't want to create a worse problem but if it is possible to get rid of these mild behaviors, I'd like to try. GSE is believed by some to kill *everything*, altho I know there is at least one strain of bad bacteria that it will not kill, because if I gave GSE when there was no yeast, it did cause bad bacteria. I used Culturelle when that happened. However, it usually works within a week to eliminate yeast, unless you are giving something that tends to increase yeast, like antibiotics, chelators, anti-virals, high doses of B6/B12, etc. For my family, NOTHING takes the place of GSE for eliminating yeast. If I personally have a massive yeast issue, I take GSE and the yeast issue is entirely gone within a day. Wonderful stuff. However, it can wipe out at least some of the good stuff also. > Can you make a recommendation for a yeast protocol for me? Well, best is to try to keep yeast under control with probiotics. If you keep your dose of chelator low, many times this will be sufficient. However, for certain kids, you will need an active yeast killer. I like GSE, but you can use garlic, caprylic acid, oil of oregano, or whatever else works for your child. Dana
