Guest guest
Hi Angie, Can you call the company and ask what the inert ingredients are? I did research the other contents and they all list big question marks next to developmental toxcity and neurtocity, which mean they do not know. Why do you use the humidifier? I personally would not use it until you would know for sure about the dangers. GIna angieskim wrote: > > I am totally freaking out. Guest guest
Thanks so much for responding, . I fully intend to call the company first thing Mon morning - closed right now. I'm definitely stopping using it. I guess I started using it way back when just to make sure the humifier water didn't get bacterial growth (without having to clean it every single day). ARRRGGGG! Anyway, now that it's spring, I won't need to use the humifier anymore. Thanks, Angie > > > > I am totally freaking out. I just saw that fungicides and algaecides > > can have mercury in them. Guest guest
What is the purpose of the humidifier? DO you live in a dry climate? Just curiousI remember using them when I had a cold or something when I was a kid. angieskim wrote: > > Thanks so much for responding, . I don't know the answer to your question about the specific product, but I'll offer that I've been using GSE in my fishtank as an algaecide and it works very well. Keeps the fungus off the black mollies too. As far as causing your child's autism -- it's just not helpful to look at it that way. All of us parents are working now to get our homes etc. as free of toxic crap as we can, and that's all we can do, treat our children and look forward. Guest guest
We use a humidifier usually from Nov thru April due to the dryness in the air. My son used to have numerous nosebleeds, especially if the air in the house is dry or the wind was blowing outside. (and even with the humidifier, we had a heck of time 2 years ago-even took him to get one side cauterized). I also used to use the algae/bacterial stuff because that's what they reccomend so that the standing water doesn't start growing stuff and get blown into the air. I quit using it a couple to 3 years ago because we had the humidifier cranked up so high I was refilling the containers every 2- 3 days. The container is called Bemis Humidifier Bacteria Treatment Ours has n-alkl (60% C14, 30% C16, 5%C12, 5% C18) dimethyl benzl ammonium chlorides......1.12% n-Akyl (68% C12,32% C14) dimethyl ethylbenzyl ammonium chlorides......1.125% Inert Ingredients.....97.750% I have no idea what all that stuff is, but that's what's on the label.
