This can be zinc deficiency.

For my #3, it was from eating foods/supplements not tolerated, and

when he had a yeast overgrowth issue.

Since we're on the subject, my son has some odd behaviors. Lots of mouthing of

hands but also lately sucking and biting his upper arms. He doesn't bite deep

or hard, just kind of grabs the skin with his teeth and pulls. Any ideas? Really

nothing has changed of late except for some mineral supplementation, folinic,

vitamin C, and CLO. Thanks!

Well those can be some pretty big changes! My son got SUPER aggressive

with the CLO - though he's not injuring himself I would suspect the CLO

first...

Make sure the CLO is from mercury-free fish. What form of C do you use. Much

of it is from corn, which some don't tolerate. One can get vit C from sago

palm.

Some kids don't tolerate CLO at all. My son is one of those kids, and odd

behaviors come out when he's on it. In fact, the only time he ever licked

objects was when he was taking it. It also makes him hyper and mean, so does

dairy.

For some children, this means zinc deficiency.

For my #3, it meant he was eating foods or supplements he did not

tolerate, or he had a yeast overgrowth issue.

My kids don't tolerate mineral supplementation, because they are too

high in many minerals. I have to supplement minerals individually.

Vitamin C causes problems if given more than about 200% USRDA.

Some kids don't tolerate folinic acid.

My kids don't tolerate CLO or other EFAs except with mito cocktail.

behaviors. I believe the Gf-Cf diet, supporting the immune system

and CHELATION has helped. He is still non-verbal and has developed

more OCD, stimming and prompt dependent-ness...but I have not been

able to afford to keep his " gut " cleaned up enough to continue

chelation and I think he has yeast problems again. But,

alas...no$$$$$$! But I am working on it.

Lindy, have you tried just plain garlic to help with the gut. It is cheap

and it will kill the yeast - he will stink but you will save $$$$.
