The next meeting of the Santa Cruz Celiac Support Group will be held on

Saturday, Saturday, August 5, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in Room 1 at Dominican

Hospital, 1555 Soquel Drive, in Santa Cruz, California. We will have a

potluck lunch at about 12:30. Please bring a gluten-free potluck lunch item

to share, along with the recipe or a list of ingredients (as usual, this is

considered potluck optional for those too sick to cook or who are unfamiliar

Last month we had a pizza party... this month it will be a

breakfast bash. Please bring your favorite breakfast/brunch

foods to share along with the box or recipe. We'll discuss

what to eat for breakfast at home and on the road as well

as a Q & A about gluten-free eating. This is our last meeting

before the summer break. Contact Ellen for directions or

other information.

The new redesigned website is up for the Celiac Sprue

Research Foundation. Check out www.celiacsprue.org

Volunteers are needed for the Stanford Celiac Conference

that will be held on September 16. We need someone now

to be the lead registration person (and main contact for

attendees). We also need someone to be the contact for

our gluten free vendors who can receive the donated goods.

We will need others later in the summer. Please contact

if you can help.

DINNER IN SAN FRANCISCO FOR CELIAC AWARENESS

We are having a Seal ee Yak Splash party June 22

and you are invited. We are also looking for volunteers.

There will be great music at a funky boat club in

San Francisco with plenty of parking. Alice Bast,

Director of the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness,

www.celiacawareness.org will be speaking about new

research information on Celiac Sprue. Also, Dr. Gray,

Prof. of Medicine, Emeritus, Stanford Celiac Management

Clinic, will be answering any and all questions. This party

is a prelude to our big October 7 black tie event with a

great dance band, raffle & other surprises.
