Guest guest
Dr. Usman in Chicago (Warrenville area) is not unreasonable at all. She gives you a lot of undivided time and she is hugely knowledgeable. For $600 you could fly to Chicago for a day and see her and still have ample change. Guest guest
I know I know. I sold out my life insurance policy for my boys to go and then maxed out my credit cards. I think all docs are expensive but they seem worse because they don't get paid from insurance companies. Although keep in mind, some claims will account for something with a lot of insurance companies, even as deductibles for out of network docs, etc...Small reimbursements, etc (although mine stinks for this) Anyway, it can't hurt to send in a claim form if u have insurance.. I also think the DAN! doc is the only ones that agree with any of the mercury issues, etc. The whole biochemical approach is something someday I hope mainstream docs will stop snubbing their noses to... carol [ ] Why are DAN dr's so darn expensive!!!! > Why are Dan dr's so darn expensive???? Guest guest
If they only knew what they were talking about they might be worth it. Our DAN! dr admitted in the first and last session we had that we knew more than she did. I gave her lots of points for honesty, but we never went back. Probably a good thing, or I would have never searched for and found this list and may have followed her advice if she could " act " like she knew more about what she was talking about. Guest guest
I am so lucky. My DAN! doctor is our family doctor and I just have to pay my normal co-pay. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Her office is no longer taking any new patients. She is booked into late 2006. > Dr. Usman in Chicago (Warrenville area) is not unreasonable at all. Guest guest
> How can you do it yourself without a prescription? I know the ALA you can get over the counter but since it crosses the blood-brain barrier, I think we should get of the mercury in the other areas first, then cross the brain. Am I correct? Is that what others are doing? You can get DMSA from www.vrp.com without a script. If you do Andy's protocol (low dose/frequent, 3-4 hrs) you don't have to do labs, according to a DAN I've worked with. Of course it would be great to have a doctor you could trust, what I'm saying is that these treatments are being figured out as we go along and from what I see most doctors are behind the curve. Read the files here at a-m, and the Andy Index, for more info about chelation, the dosing schedule, which supps to use, etc. And ask questions here whenever you have them . Guest guest
They aren't taught how to do it right, and it takes a lot of time and testing to muddle through when they don't konw what they are doing. Also, doctors do charge a lot, it is just in other situations insurance covers it so people don't really understand how expensive it is. Yes, there need to be a lot more autistic kid detox doc's out there, that would drive he price down. Andy > Why are Dan dr's so darn expensive???? Guest guest
OMG...I have never heard of prices that high! I would maybe seek out a out of state DAN! that takes patients without seeing them (video accepted w/lab tests). I know mine does in Cleveland Ohio....Dr. DeMio @ 216-901-0441...if your interested in more info email me offlist Zevnik > They aren't taught how to do it right, and it takes a lot of time and > testing to muddle through when they don't konw what they are doing. > > Also, doctors do charge a lot, it is just in other situations > insurance covers it so people don't really understand how expensive it is. > > Yes, there need to be a lot more autistic kid detox doc's out there, > that would drive he price down. > > Andy > > > Why are Dan dr's so darn expensive????
