Guest guest
TK thanks for your response. MY RESPONSE IS IN CAPS. We must be a toxic mess. I did the hair test two years ago for my boys and they always fell just outside the ranges. For example, if the range was 11-18 (I'm just picking numbers here) they were 10 or 19. It was that way for the three sets of numbers. TK--- This will depend on the hair test but Hg frequently does not show up in hair to any degree. A DDI hair test and using the counting rules will give you more information as to if Hg is a problem. If the lab that the hair tests were done at are covered in Andy's new book you might be able to use it. I DID DO THE DDI HAIR TEST AND USED THE COUNTING RULES BUT FOR ALL 3 SECTIONS THEY WERE JUST SLIGHTLY ABOVE OR BELOW THE RANGE. TK--- Check and see if your hair tests are covered in Andy's new book for analysis or redo hair tests using DDI and use the counting rules to analize them. Try chelation and see if Hg is a problem. WHAT WOULD YOU CONSIDER BEING " A PROBLEM " . WOULD THIS MEAN THAT A DDI URINE TEST WOULD SHOW MERCURY LEVELS ABOVE THE REFERENCE RANGE? Would you go through amalgam removal for me? TK--- You have to remove all amalgams before chelation. I AM WONDERING IF I NEED TO REMOVE THEM JUST TO PROTECT MYSELF FROM FUTURE PROBLEMS - LIKE ALZHEIMER'S ETC. - I WOULDN " T CONSIDER DOING CHELATION BEFOREHAND. Should I be chelated as well? TK--- Perhaps, depends on if you have symptoms or are ill. I AM NOT ILL. I DON " T THINK I HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS. I STRUGGLE WITH DEPRESSION AT TIMES (NOTHING SEVERE) AND I HAVE ANXIETY OCCASIONALLY BUT I DON " T THINK THIS IS MUCH DIFFERENT THAN MOST PARENTS OF KIDS ON THE SPECTRUM. What about my husband (no amalgams but has concentration and comprehension issues). TK--- Again perhaps OH HOW I WISH I KNEW HOW TO ANSWER THAT QUESTION> What about the mercury spill in our bedroom? I remember calling up some places about two years ago and I felt like I was coming up with dead ends. Nobody could tell me how to fix the problem. Am I being neurotic about this? I WISH SOMEONE OUT THERE COULD ANSWER THIS FOR ME. Thanks so much TK. If anyone else cares to respond, please feel free. Barbara

TK--- Well, you can't chelate without removing amalgams so this is a mute point at present, unless you decide to remove them I would not worry about it. WOULD THIS MEAN THAT A DDI URINE TEST WOULD SHOW MERCURY LEVELS ABOVE THE REFERENCE RANGE? TK--- Not necessarily. Also you would not want to do challenge tests with amalgams in place as it will draw more Hg into your body. > > Would you go through amalgam removal for me? TK--- This is not in caps, but amalgam removal is a large topic and you could better help yourself by reviewing the material in the files seciton as Moria compiled all this into an orderly fashon which makes it much easier to understand. There are also links there for more information. TK--- This is a personal decision especially if you are not ill as tollerance levels for Hg differ. I think you will need to do some more research so you can make an educated decision. > > Should I be chelated as well? > > TK--- Perhaps, depends on if you have symptoms or are ill. > > I AM NOT ILL. MY RESPONSE IS IN CAPS. > I DID DO THE DDI HAIR TEST AND USED THE COUNTING RULES BUT FOR ALL 3 SECTIONS THEY WERE JUST SLIGHTLY ABOVE OR BELOW THE RANGE. depends on how close they were-- but all 3 being close does seem iffy (as in possibly abnormal) > I AM WONDERING IF I NEED TO REMOVE THEM JUST TO PROTECT MYSELF FROM FUTURE PROBLEMS - LIKE ALZHEIMER'S ETC. - I WOULDN " T CONSIDER DOING CHELATION BEFOREHAND. You could do a hair test on yourself to see if that clarifies anything for you. > I AM NOT ILL. I DON " T THINK I HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS. I think a lot of parents of kids on the spectrum are mercury toxic so the comment " not much different... " doesn't make me think you are okay... I also think it is likely that there is an inherited component in sensitivity to mercury. > > What about my husband (no amalgams but has concentration and comprehension issues). > > TK--- Again perhaps > > OH HOW I WISH I KNEW HOW TO ANSWER THAT QUESTION> since he has no amalgams, it is relatively easy for him to try chelating to see if it is useful to him. > Thanks so much TK.
