Guest guest
I am mom to 2 ASD boys (3yo 30lbs, 5yo 40lbs). We are GFCF ++++ My baby obviously needs more things removed from his diet as his poops have gone back to total mush. We had a SAGE panel run and the last 2 things that need to be tested are White Potatoes and Corn. I really don't want to restrict their diets any more than they already are and want to figure out how to get their guts healed so they can eat normal food again. I have not yet found a DAN! doc and am looking for more things I can do on my own in the meanwhile. I tried Hustons enzymes and didn't seem to do much for them. They have problems digesting yeast things (oldest score 65% on bakers yeast) from what I can tell they are fine as long as they do not ingest yeast (including vinegars) and don't seem to react from 'yeast feeders' sugar etc but I keep those things minimized in the diet just in case. I tried fish oils (3 different brands including the strawberry nordic ones) and aggression came out like crazy it was so horrible we had to stop. I tried calcium/mag/zinc/copper sup and the sensory seeking and toe walking when crazy so I stopped that. I also tried Jarrow and 1 other brand of probiotics and oldest had potty accidents left and right which is usually a huge sign he doesn't tolerate something and baby got major diarrhea - recently learned yeast is used to grow probiotics so perhaps that's the problem with that... I bought some ALA and was thinking of try that out but just read the caution that it shouldn't be used if they are high in copper, since I've not had that tested I don't know. Where should I start? Is there anything more I should try before we get all the DAN! testing? Is there anything I should ask my non-DAN! doctor to run? Thanks, near LAX
