Guest guest Posted July 6, 2005 Report Share Posted July 6, 2005 Hope you can help me because we are doing DAN's protocol in Chile (Southamerica)to my 5 years old daughter and we don't have trained and experienced M.D. yet. At this point we are in the 4th round of oral DMSA in a dose of 250 mg every 8 hours, 3 days on and 11 off. My daughter's weight is 53 pounds. When she completes 4 months we want to change to DMSA with ALA in a dose schedule of 37.5 mg every 4 hours. Preparing for that we bought DMSA with ALA at Kirkmans and those capsules are in a ratio of 1:1 (DMSA to ALA) is that dose and ratio correct ? or I should supplement some adittional DMSA ? It's hard for me to understand the disminution of DMSA when it was alone to the dose when combined with ALA. Guest guest Posted July 6, 2005 Report Share Posted July 6, 2005 I would lower the dose of DMSA and give frequently. Use 1/4 to 1/2 mg of DMSA per pound of body weight every 4 hours for 72 hours. After 7 rounds add the ALA at the same ratio. Give them both every 3 hours during the day and every 4 at night for 72 hour rounds. We have followed ANdy's protocol for 3 years with NO side-effects and we continue to pull metals. Until now my daughter hasn't had side-effects but I'm worried about that because I've read that with ALA might start yeast problems. Anyway it's OK a ratio 1:1 between DMSA and ALA ?
