Interesting about the connection between licorice and high blood

pressure.

I offer five referenced positions on licorice below, and a quote from

one of them. I tend to put more credence into internet information

from recognized institutions of higher education and professional

groups. For that reason, I personally tend to have greater faith in

references 3 - 5. But professionals are not infalable either. Just

look at the problems created by Viiox, thaladimide, Phen-fen,

Premarin, etc.

Of the seven ingredients in Trader Joe's Black Licorice ie Dogs,

licorice root extract is the 7th (last) ingredient. The fifth is anise

oil which probably contributes most of the flavor.

Use your own judgment regarding the safety of the candy for you.
