Guest guest
This is wonderful news. I don't get to Cupertino, but if that one store uses the wheat-free tamari, then perhaps others can be convinced to do so. Soy sauce as an ingredient is a big limiter for me at the Whole Foods deli case. The other problem for us, at the Whole Foods deli, is gluten dishes spilling into non-gluten ingredient dishes, and spoons being used for several dishes. I was about to order a rice dish last week and then saw that macaroni salad displayed on the tier above it, had tumbled into the rice dish. At the Whole Foods and Real Foods I go to, the employees seem to be clueless about gluten. Three times, I've had employees direct me to spelt-based products, because they believed them to be GF. Things ARE getting easier for those of us with CD. H. This is the only store that does it so far, but it's true and confirmed. It's the only kind they use and there isn't anything else allowed in their kitchen. Of course this is just the fresh deli selections. . . . Remember, THIS ONLY APPLIES TO THE CUPERTINO STORE!
Guest guest
Speaking of wheat-free tamari - does that mean it's gluten free as well? I purchased shortly after being diagnosed wheat free soy sauce but I stopped using it shortly thereafter because I couldn't tell if it was gluten free. By the ingredients, it looked gluten free, but I wasn't sure. As anyone looked into this issue? L² Talk is cheap. Use Messenger to make PC-to-Phone calls. Great rates starting at 1¢/min. Guest guest
The kind they use is absolutely GF. Which brand did you buy? The kind I use (also purchased at WF) is GF, too. For the life of me, I can't remember the brandname...sorry. Carla --- In , Linden <redchickn@...> wrote: > > Speaking of wheat-free tamari - does that mean it's gluten free as well? Guest guest
I haven’t looked into it per se, but I use it all the time and have no reaction. That being said, I know other celiacs who drink distilled vodka all the time, while I have a reaction. In short, I don’t know the *official* GF status, but I do know that I do not react to it.
