Guest guest
We are treating G. for mercury toxicity hoping his symptoms are related to all the dental work he had at ages 3-4. He is now 7 and his symptoms only started to show up in the past two years. Anyone out there who has had mercury removed or knows someone who has? I would like to hear if symptoms such as diarrhea, lack of eye contact, meltdowns have disappeared. Thanks.

But chelation was an important first step. Dana

But chelation was an important first step. There are some interesting theories on secondary effects of Thimerasol. Basically, after the mercury has been broken off and absorbed into your body, the remaining part of the Thimerasol molecule mimics certain RNA molecules, and is absorbed into cells. As these cells replicate, the " Thimerasol turd " is replicated as well, possibly by itself causing autistic symtoms. For this reason, Dr. Amy Yasko (see <http://www.autismanswer.com/>) tends to take an RNA-based approach to chelation - rather than chelating the metal directly, she seeks to eliminate the (often virus-controlled) cells that contain either mercury and/or the remaining portions of Thimerasol. She claims to have a high rate of success, even with individuals for which traditional chelation did not work. OTOH, she seems unaware of the various pitfalls of traditional DMPS/DMSA-only chelation, as outlined in the FAQ for this list and in Andy Cutler's protocol. Among other things, she tends to supplement both ALA and Glutathione skin lotion simultaneously -- and ALA at far too infrequent intervals (e.g. once daily). -tor
Guest guest
> There are some interesting theories on secondary effects of Thimerasol. Well, for my son, calcium and iron toxicity appear to be related. I am currently eliminating those. Mitochondrial issues were also apparently related. I have addressed those. Severe vitamin, mineral, amino acid, EFA, and other deficiency, I have addressed those. Systemic virus issues appear to be related. I have addressed those. My son's only remaining issues now, appear to be the remnants of calcium and iron toxicity, and EFA deficiency. Dana
