Very Smelly Urine and Gas on DMSA Round #13

Hello all,

We are on round #13 of DMSA and suddenly our son has very bad smelling

urine. He is also passing gas that is pretty foul.

We noticed a different smell of the urine from the first round, and

some increase in passing of gas, but this round it has become MUCH

worse <gasp>.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it anything to be concerned about?

Did you increase his dosage of DMSA? Any change in supplements or

foods? I know my kids urine & feces stunk like sulfur immediately

(from round 1) when starting DMSA. They had gas from the beginning

too. Every single time they chelate they stink like rotten eggs. It

oozes from every pore & orifice. Breath, stool, urine, skin etc.

Very pungent. It is really common on DMSA. I'm surprised you are

just getting the stinky stuff now on round #13.

Not to be a smart aleck or anything, but do you have allergies or

anything that may have interfered with your sense of smell?

This sounds like when I have a yeast issue.

We always considered it a good sign, unless, of course, you have signs of

yeast overgrowth as well.

My daughter used to get persistent urinary tract infections when we used

DMSA, and looking back it was all connected to yeast. As you use DMSA the yeast

increases, not just in the gut but systemically , so in the urinary tract

aswell, so we had to massively increase our yeast protocol. It took a while to

make the connection and she had many more courses of antibiotics before we

realised the connection. If you look at the symptoms of yeast infection,

intestinal dysbiosis is listed along with infection of the urine tract.

She had so many infections that she ended up having surgery.

We now use TD-DMPS and ALA and while she still has yeast issues I am much

more aware of them and able to increase her yeast management as required.

from apothecure.com which ALWAYS makes my urine smelly and

sometimes my 'wind.'

I am most happy with the DMSA from Apothecure as VRP left me with

stomach/intestinal cramp and THorne I just found to be 'weak'.

I really think that more needs to be said about the strength and quality of

the DMSA out there.

kikman's dmsa has been wonderful for our son. it doesnt seem to be " weak " to us

but then again everyone reacts differently. he also gets the smelly urine and

passes gas ALOT. i always felt that was an indication of things getting out of

the body since the metals are removed through feces and urine. what do you

think about that theory?
