Guest guest
[ ] High ammonia/High aluminum..need help!! Ok long story short...I get a amino acids plasma done on last month and loe and behold he has very high ammonia levels!! I am so beside myself....Dr. DeMio prescribes Alpha Kethoric Acid to bring levels down. That pacifies me for the moment....but I still am so upset about why it's high. So I sit down at the table today with all of Vinnie's tests results and pour over them...looking for any clues. I find high levels of aluminum in his hair test last year...but no aluminum being excreted in his urine on any of his urine tests. Last test I have is for the 4 month challenge...still no aluminum!! I read on to discover that toxic levels of aluminum causes high ammonia levels by decreasing alpah-keto- glutarate....UUUHHHH! Go figure, right??? So everybody, please help me...how can I get the aluminum out? Am I doing everything I can already with TD-DMPS and I need to just be patient and try to lower levels with supplements? Is TD-DMSA a better chelator of aluminum? I just completed month 5 and I am dumping lots of mercury in my urine...last result was 8.1! What is blocking my aluminum? I have researched and discovered that Mg and Malic Acid can be effective in lowering aluminum levels...so I ordered some cream of Mg to put more in his body. What in the hell am I missing here? Any any suggestions is so greatly needed!!!! Zevnik =======================================================
Guest guest
Good suggestions from Steve. Ammonia is a sign that the liver is damaged, unable to process protein. I would add lots of Vitamin E and milk thistle (good for liver). The best thing for the liver is a tip I got from Steve, lecithin, or phosphatidylcholine. As much as you can get down him. It's pretty icky, maybe hide in natural peanut butter. You can get it powdered, but still pretty icky. I have also read to give at least 6 protein based meals a day. They don't have to be big meals, a few bites of chicken and fruit/vegetable are acceptable. With the mercury you are pulling, if you get his liver straightened out, you should be home free. Is why most of us are in this mess, damaged liver due to antibiotics and vaccines with mercury, couldn't allow the liver to throw out the toxins. Key for most is chelation and healing of the liver. Good luck, [ ] Re: High ammonia/High aluminum..need help!! My son had very high ammonia two or three years ago and we got it down very quickly using alpha-ketoglutaric acid and butyrate. The results came very quickly and made a big difference to his functioning but we had to keep him on maintenace doses for years. As well as aluminum, you should look at whether digestion is satisfactory. It could be that proteins are not being properly digested and you made need more enzymes, probiotics etc. the butyrate will also help with gut healing and flora re aluminum, I have seen some evidence that colloidal silica can help displace it. That's silica, NOT silver. Andy's stance on this is get out the other metals and the body will be able to get rid of the aluminum. I have no idea whether or not that is true. Guest guest
i am quoting here from willis s langford's tome Comprehensive Guide To Mastering Autism- " dmps takes metals out in a certain order: zinc, tin, copper, arsenic, mercury, lead, iron, and cadmium creating damaging deficiencies in necessary minerals. dmsa does not chelate aluminum one of the problem metals for kids. magnesium in glysinated form is said to reduce aluminun as will malic acid(apple cider vinegar). " he is a brilliant man who has gathered a huge amount on info, gives alot of pros and cons of each therapy or intervention and has a 350 page book. i found him through the ARI site there was a portion of the book edited and posted as nutrition in autism but i called him and he was lovely and sent me the whole book online for me to print out and i sent him a check in the mail. it is very technical info and he covers just about every therapy being used. i mention all this because i cannnot figure out what author of the exact phrase above to reference, it may have been one of several as part of my bibiliography did not print. he has been correct for us but again i have no direct experience with aluminum. ...teresa c--- In , " leslie_zevnik " <leslie_zevnik@y...> wrote: > Ok long story short...I get a amino acids plasma done on last > month and loe and behold he has very high ammonia levels!! Guest guest
Steve, I started AKA on Monday...what results to his functioning should I be watching for? VIncent is a terrible gut kid....proteins are NOT being digested at all I think. I actually think he might have some genetics mutations where he is unable to digest protein probably....makes for keeping yeast down quite a challenge! Can you suggest a enzyme that you have had a good experience with....I have tried Houstons and they have always messed with his bowels...I will order some Magnesium Butyrate to his protoccol and see how he does. I give good amounts of probotics already...will try more Thanks! > My son had very high ammonia two or three years ago and we got it down > very quickly using alpha-ketoglutaric acid and butyrate. > > The results came very quickly and made a big difference to his > functioning but we had to keep him on maintenace doses for years. > > As well as aluminum, you should look at whether digestion is > satisfactory. Guest guest
, had a moderate amount of antibotics in his first year of life (of course and vaccs to add to this mess. I give 400 iu of E a day, 200mg of milk thistle a day...can I go up safely for a 41 pound 3 year old? I do have a new bottle of lecithin in the fridge, bought it last month but was nervous because he is sensitive to soy. Going to throw caution to the wind and try that out. With being so young...do you think that getting the metals out..that the liver will heal itself? How much damage can be caused before it is unrepairable? Been watching his liver enzymes during chelation..they are holding good. He is dumping mercury pretty fast in his urine (none in fecal yet)... > Good suggestions from Steve. Guest guest
It's interesting...I've never had my son's ammonia level checked but he chelated lead like you would not believe and some minor mercury, but aluminum keeps showing up in his hair tests. I just started him on Lipiflow (very high grade lecithin it was around $100 with S & H). A chemist friend of mine swears by it and it's what he learned about it from studies they are doing at NASA that are showing that it rebuilds the liver. He also told me to pair it up with phosphatidylcholine which I got at the health food store. I put it on my son's burgers, in his hemp nut butter sandwiches or on his " waffles " and he doesn't seem to mind it. A couple of times he's just eaten it off the spoon. I've been using silica as well, from Eidon. They have ionic silica and Rick Wagner the owner/president is also going through mercury chelation and will talk to you if you phone. Is it that the stuff is actually working and that's why it's coming out of his hair now? Detection level of the hair test company that we use is 8 and he shows at 25. Still no mercury. Not sure if he is just one heck of a non-extretor of if lead and aluminum (in his flu shots) were the real culprit. Best regards, Debbie > Good suggestions from Steve. Guest guest
Debbie, Isn't horsetail a natural form of silica???? I was at the health food store today and saw it on the shelf...and I had a urge to buy it...uh, interesting... > > Good suggestions from Steve. They are the protein-digesting enzyme supps. I would try AFP peptizyde on its own and see how you go with that. then i would buy several sample sizes of various Kirkman enzymes and try them for fat and carb digestion. Good luck Steve
Guest guest
Steve, Is butyrate's natural source from cow's milk? Vinnie is highly intolerable to dairy...is there another source? Where did you buy yours? Yes, AFP is one that he tolerated fairly well...gave him one just last week when he sneaked a piece of cheese. I will add that in today. I have a bottle of Carb Digest from Kirkman's also.... I though I smelled something amiss last night when I went into his room to check on him... Yes, I have seen a difference with him this week...along w/mental clarity comes naugtiness with Vinnie > > Steve, > > I started AKA on Monday...what results to his functioning should I > be > > watching for? > > -- better cognition, more alertness > If you're not already getting results, i would add in butyrate. within > days we were finding a very strong ammonia smell in his nappies. Where did you buy > yours? Butyrate occurs naturally in dairy food. I believe the word itslef derives from " butter " . But the caps you buy are made in labs, not sourced from dairy. You can be confident they are casein free We have used several brands, I can't remeber them exactly as Callum's gut has healed considerably and we don't use this supp on a regular basis anymore. I found some Ecological Formulas Cal-Mag Butyrate in our cupboard. I would look at the big companies like www.iherb.com, www.bayho.com etc I know Emerson Ecologics sells it, but they charge like wounded bulls Steve
Guest guest
Yep, horsetail is silica. I've just always used straight silica from Eidon because they manufacture close by my home and their president always makes time for my questions. I'm so glad you found it!
