Per a suggestion from a fellow celiac, , my husband and I recently ate at a small little San restaurant called Ohana Grill. They serve Hawaiian-type food. It is on Branham Lane near Branham High School. had already taken the time to explain to Amy and (the owners of this restaurant) how to cook gluten-free food in a clean pan vs. on their grill because of cross-contamination. also looked into the ingredient listings, researched which entrees had been already marinated and explained to them we needed to use g-f soy sauce when cooking our dishes.

The two dishes you can order here are the dark chicken dish and the kahula pork dish. (The white chicken already comes marinated.)

I brought my own g-f soy sauce (but they should have g-f soy sauce on hand, compliments of ). I ordered the dark chicken dish and my sauteed chicken came on a skewer on a bed of delicious cabbage, broccoli and carrots with 2 scoops of white rice. It was very good. My husband ordered the an entrée consisting of short ribs, chicken and mahi mahi. He said he would definitely go back and eat there again, too! I can't wait to try the kahula pork dish next time.

When you order, explain that you are celiac and that " " sent you. (Brinig along your own bottle of soy sauce just to be sure they didn't run out.)

Their address is: Ohana Grill, 1576 Branham Lane, San , CA 95118, (408) 269-8883. Amy and Wong will take good care of you!
