Tony Roma's Original BBQ sauce is gluten free. You can check with them

about their other sauces as well.

BBQ sauce too late for tonight

1 can of tomato paste

Honey, molassas, agave, brown sugar to

taste – start with 2 Tbsp

Vinegar to taste – start with 2 Tbsp

Cayenne or paprika

Wheat free tamari or fish sauce 1 Tbsp

Liquid smoke – a dash or so or not.

Or spicy ketchup

Or jam, mustard, tamari and water

It kind of depends on what you like in a

BBQ sauce.

Annie’s Natural BBQ Sauce can be

purchased at WF, or at least the one here in the city.

I haven’t tried it yet (just bought

it tonight), but the ingredient list looks kosher (or should I say GF) to me.

I was so excited to find a GF BBQ sauce

that I had my hubby read the ingredients too – I couldn’t believe

my eyes!

I’ll let you know how it goes…

Thanks for the recipe guides, Connie. I can't imagine, myself, buying a pre-made BBQ sauce, even if I didn't have CD. One can be made in two or three minutes, with nice, fresh ingredients.

, it sounds like you got someone on the phone who wasn't aware

of GF. I'm a beginner, but when I went to that WF last week, I bought

3 different ones there! Like someone already mentioned, Annie's makes

a few GF ones, but for the life of me, I can't remember which other

one I bought. I already used it for ribs. I'll be at WF today and will

look for specific brands/flavours that will suit us and report back.

All the best,

Our perpetual houseguest is very careful about not putting gluten in food, but he does make mistakes. Also, he's fond of pre-made purchased spice blends, which I think are a little risky because wheat starch could be included to prevent clumping or to bulk up the mixture. Also, I don't think they taste as good as freshly-made mixtures Last night he said he'd make barbeque; he proudly pulled out a bottle of Red Tail Ale BBQ Sauce he'd bought. He didn't realize that ale is beer, and beer contains wheat. He meant well, but I'm awfully glad I didn't let him "surprise" me with barbeque. I found that the local barbeque place runs a very clean, orderly operation -- but their secret ingredient is "teriyaki sauce", which is based on soy sauce.

Thank you everyone.  Last night, I got to the place where my son (GF) was going to eat a BBQ dinner.  I told his grandfather that he could not have BBQ sauce with modified food starch and then he pulled out Cattlemans classic, so I called the 800# and they said that the classic was GF, but not the cattlemans with honey.

I am so thankful to be a part of this group as everyone is so quick to help.  I now plan to buy a bunch of the recommended sauces and make some homemade creations per all of your helpful emails.

Thank you so much!
