Hi to all,

Fran you mentioned going to OD and OMS. Does OD stand for orthodontist? I do not

have braces. I will be getting implants. I have partials right now on top and

will go from this to implants rather than dentures.

Hi ,

I went to three OD's here. In this area, the OD consults are free of

charge. I did not tell any of them that I was going to another OD for

a consult. I wanted them to give me their own perspective

irrespective of other experts becoming involved. Do you have braces

yet? If you do, going to another OD might be very awkward. Perhaps a

OMS would take you for a second opinion in that case. A PS, unless

they deal directly with OS, probably would not be the first choice for

a definitive second opinion. I don't know this for a fact, but I

would prefer a OD or OS personally. I dont' know if this is helpful

to you or not, but I hope it is! Good luck, and let us know what you

surgeon's office (a well respected one of course) and tell them I

would like to come in for a second opinion about jaw surgery? I wonder

if insurance pays for this?
