Sinus and cold irritations...

Have another tip for our 'tip sheet'. I came down with a sinus infection that

really threw me for a loop. I could barely sleep and the CPAP was forcing

drainage down my throat. I actually sat up most of the first night. Second

night, I took a sudafed tablet and that helped for about 6 hours. Today I felt

like crap. My husband made me chicken soup, tea and kept asking if he could

help. I was coughing and in pain from the sore throat and trunk muscles. Then

tonight, on a lark, I dug out the heat pack (an oatmeal stuffed tube that is

heated in the microwave). I heated it up for two minutes. I put it across my

head and fell asleep with my oxygen plugged in. I woke up with no headache, no

aches and pains and my throat was no longer raw... felt like a miracle cure. I

don't like to take additional medications if I don't have to and try to limit

them to when I need them most (like night time for sleeping). However, I will

tell you I feel 150% better than I did this afternoon and evening before I got

the brainstorm to try the heat pack. It also makes the incisions from my biopsy

less bothersome (occasionally they start " tingling " ). Hope you find this

helpful with this cold season upon us.
