hello.. my name is Katheryn and 10 days ago i had my 4 wisdom teeth

pulled, my upper jaw moved forward 8mm and my chin grafted. all to

correct my underbite. i was suppose to have my lower jaw broken and

moved back ut they said it was in a 'good place'. the past few days i

have been looking on the internet for a site like this.. im not sure

if my family actually understands what im going through, and my

friends dont have a lot of contact with me since they are all busy

preparing for school. my jaw is wired shut, and i was wondering was

this 'banding' some people have. ive read some soft food recipes for

banding and im thinking that its a hell of a lot easier for eating

than sucking watered down tomoto soup through your teeth everyday! i

know a lot of you have already been through all this or are at least

farther ahead in your recovery, so i was wondering if you could help

with comments or explanations. i have a meeting next tuesday with the

oral surgeon and i will ask him then how long my mouth will be wired

shut for. but what comes after wires? banding? and what is this

horrible thing ive heard of when they pull your wires out?? :S i know

there are 3 in my upper jaw and 1 or 2 maybe in my chin. it scares
