Hello Sriram,

My name is Jill and I had my 4th Lefort (upper jaw) surgery 2 weeks ago and I am

wired shut..are you wired or just bands? I kep grinding my teeth after my

surgeries and breaking the plates so this new surgeon decided to wire me for 6

weeks to help prevent movement of my jaw and to help it heal properly..this

surgeon also broke my lower jaw which does not hurt at all also to help prevent

pressure on the upper jaw...I am also going to hyperbaric chamber treatments..I

did 20 visit before my surgery and now having to do 10 afterwards at 2 hrs each

visit..this helps with bone healing etc...

wuld love to talk with you further reg your experience

Hey

I've just come home from my OS. He's told me i have a 1 out of 3

chance of having relaps, because of the angle my lower jaw has grown

at. Before i went into the consult i wanted to go through with the

surgery, no doubts. But now all the sudden i'm having second thoughts.

Has anyone been through this, with the higher chance of relaps?

What should i do? I still want to go through with it, but im really

scared of the relaps figure. I know there is always a chance of a

complication with these things. Like my Dad pointed out the there is a

2 in 3 chance that everything will be great. But that other figure

still gets to me.

Sorry for talking around in circles, im just a little confused at the

moment. Any help or advise would be awesome!
