Kidney stones - interputing results

About 1.5 months ago I had 2 kidney stones removed . . .delightful experience a

basket up my ureter . . . mmm something I hope not to repeat.

The Urologist had me do a 24 hour urine collection and mailed me the results.

I'll put a call in to him tomorrow, but can you guys help me interpret what he

is saying???? Pretty Please

" Your 24-hour urine shows that your calcium in quite high at 547. Your volume

was good at 4975. Your uric acid is normal at 448. Your oxalate is high at 95

and your citric acid is normal at 995. You are at significant risk for future

stone formation. I would recommend that you start on hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg

a day and see you for followup in a month. When on hydrochlorothiazide, you may

need additional potassium supplementation. Enclosed is a prescription and a low

oxalate diet. "

Questions,

- what makes my calcium high, where is it coming from?

- What is hydrochlorothiazide and is it pouch friendly?

- I don't do brown beverages, just water and an occasional hot chocolate) I do

Citrate calcium, which I'll continue on, should I bump up my dose?

- could this be why I retain water? By the end of the day my feet sometimes

swell out of my shoes.

Any advice thoughts?

Thank you all so much. I truly do not want the misery of another kidney stone.

Dry heaving for hours on end in pain well, they were horrible.
