ice craving

I just joined this group--I am status post RNY in 2000. I appreciated

the e-mails on ice craving because I too have been eating it like

crazy. I just had my labs drawn the other day and I'm anemic. I don't

have b12 or folate back yet but Hct is 31, Hgb 9.5, MCV 71, Ferritin

4, and iron 16 with a saturation of 3. I noticed I am tired and my

hands are cool but basically feel OK. Just how quick do I need to get

to a hematologist? I have been on b12 shots since 1 year post op. Are

iron transfusions necessary when you get to the levels I am at and

are they a big deal? Thanks a million and it really helps to know I

am not alone!!--Patty
