I'm so happy for you! You know I'm like you in that I've struggled with weight since I was about 10 years old. It's a huge battle isn't it?

I'm glad you are getting the opportunity to try this option. I'll be praying that the surgery goes smoothly and the weight just falls off post op.

It sounds like you will have a busy, chaotic and very very fun Christmas! That's my kind of holiday! I hope you have a blast!

Hi to everyone and Welcome to all you newbies. My heart skips a beat every time I see our member count increase. It saddens me to know that anyone else has to live with this nasty disease.I haven't been posting alot. I've been rushing around trying to get Christmas finished up. Just a few more things left to do!As many of you know I've been working the past 6 months to get insurance authorization so that I can have gastric banding (Realize Band) surgery. I had my last 6 month diet appointment Nov. 23rd. Friday I got the call from my surgeon's office saying I have been APPROVED! Normally it takes only a few days for insurance authorization but, because of the Thanksgiving holiday it took almost a week longer. Boy was I nervous during the entire wait. Now I'm waiting on clearance from my pulmonologist and cardiologist. I should have my surgery date by the end of this week. I am beyond excited that I'm blessed enough to have this

opportunity. Weight is something I have struggled with all my life. I've fought very hard in the most recent years because of my IPF, medications, and decreased activity. I'm ready to kick this.To top off the excitment of my surgery I'm grateful that my family will all be here in Florida with me to do Christmas over New Year's weekend. This will be the fist time in a long while that my parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother and 7 nieces & nephews will be together all at one time. "Somehow" they will all fit in my house and help Billy and me with the cooking and cleaning. This may just be the best Christmas ever for me!hugs 34 FLIPF dx 1/06
