Guest guest
The band has to follow the initial asymmetry somewhat, or else the right-side " lump " would slide into the left-side " void " and the whole helmet would probably rotate. So, I'm only guessing, but this sounds like coincidence, not cause-and-effect. " Passive " bands for asymmetrical heads, on the other hand, start out symmetrical. They took a 3-D picture of your daughter's head to make the helmet, right? and parents here have written that they were shown this image while conferring about progress. That's where I'd want to look for reassurance, or else a basis for complaints up the chain of command. -- Thad Launderville town, VT Clara, age 2 1/2, STARband '10 On Dec 29, 2010, at 11:30 PM, Jill wrote: > My daighter has been in her DOC band for about 3 weeks now. Guest guest
I'm sorry. I guess I should have been a little more clear. The bulge at the base of the skull was not there prior to treatment. I have since been back for an adjustment and the clinician clearly saw what I was talking about. She felt to make sure it was not a swollen lymph node. Her thoughts were, what I believed she called, fluid displacment. Pretty much like when you wear a wedding ring for a long time, you have an indention where the ring sat and that it should go away after the treatment is finished. She said to talk to my pedi just to be sure that it wasn't a lymph node or cyst. She went ahead and adjusted that area a little and I have seen some improvment in the size of the bulge. It's just scary to think that something else could go wrong when you are trying to do something right for your child. I guess I am just the typical worrisome new mother. > Plagiocephaly > From: p38thadl@...> Date: Thu, 30 Dec 2010 21:43:27 -0500> Subject: Re: Improper Fit???> > The band has to follow the initial asymmetry somewhat, or else the > right-side "lump" would slide into the left-side "void" and the whole > helmet would probably rotate.
