Guest guest
BevMo stocks three, THREE brands of GF beer now! Redbridge, Bard's Tale, and a line of Belgian beers, Green's. Green's is available in three types, ranging from stout to lager-like. I've bought but haven't sipped yet. H.**************Ideas to please picky eaters. Watch video on AOL Living. Guest guest
I had a bottle of Green's on super bowl sunday. It was very good! I don't remember which of the three flavors it was -- but it was the only flavor that BevMo on San Pablo in Albany had in stock. Pricey though. Guest guest
Ken likes Coors beer, and so far none of the GF beers has been to his taste (too strong/microbrewed taste; in other words, not bland enough). If anyone who has tasted the Green’s can tell me if any of them are “Coors-like”, I would appreciate it (sorry, I don’t know the beer terms; is Coors “lager-like”?). That way we would save a trip “over the hill” to the BevMo in San to try them out (or find out they don’t have it in stock!). Guest guest
For what it's worth, I think Bard's Tale tastes like a lager. Guest guest
I'd second that - Bard's is closest to a cold lager.Green's has an ale that I've always wanted to try. I miss Northwest-style pale ale almost as much as Blondie's Pizza and Cinnabon............. ;-) -JoeOn Wed, Feb 27, 2008 at 2:37 PM, Palmer, <palmer@...> wrote: For what it's worth, I think Bard's Tale tastes like a lager. Guest guest
Sorry to say I don't think there is a Coor's-like gf beer out there. Coor's would probably be considered a lager, but the us brewing industry really has made the big name beers blander over the years. I personally think Redbridge is blander than Bard's Tale. The Green's is Belgium so I doubt any are bland but who knows... I wish I could remember which one I had, but it was fairy strong. Guest guest
I went to a very large private party recently. At the bar was an ice bin of Greens beer! The bin had a note asking guests to save the Greens for people looking for GF beer. By the time I learned of it, only one bottle was left -- so others appreciated Greens, too. The hostess told me she's arranged for a small hotel bar, opening soon, to stock Redbridge. She doesn't have CD, but she knows about the disorder. H.
