Hi Alice,

I had a hysterectomy, gall bladder removal (1978 w/the big scar),

and an appendectomy. Dr R did not turn me down for the MGB, he did

warn me that my surgery could possibly take a little longer due to

scar tissue from my other surgeries. And it did, it took 70 mins

instead of 30 and I did lose more blood than he would have liked. But

it did not stop me. I had surgery at 10:30 am and by 9 pm I was up

and down the halls and in and out of bed by myself. I checked out of

the hospital before noon the next day and was back home in GA 5 days

later with not one problem. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the worst

my pain was a 2 the first night and a 1 by the next morning.

I am now 5 weeks post op and have lost 38 lbs and 10 inches. The

whole thing from beginning to end has been a wonderful (growing)

experience.

Good Luck !!!!!!

Gwen in GA

MGB 9/29 - 314

11/3 - 276
