Harvest House is awesome! We stopped in on our way back from the jelly belly factory today. (Son wanted bags of jelly belly flops for his 18th B-day). All I could say was Oh my gawd! So many choices of Energy, Kinnickkinnick, sauces, fruit bars, many brands and sizes of pizza crusts, coffee cakes, and on and on. Two big freezers(large white with lift tops). We found two things we haven't seen anywhere else, wheat free teriyaki sauce and wheat free hoisun sauce. The brand is Premier Japan by Edawardandsons.com in Carpentaria CA. Its made with wheat free Tamari sauce with apple cider vinegar. We had both our sons with us, rare lately, so I wanted to get both of them in there to look it all over. Trying to gradually turn some of this over to them. Jake got into SCU and University of Puget Sound. He picked SCU. Didn't get into Whitman. He is super happy with getting into SCU and has already put his deposits in. I have found the SCU housing director and

disability office very friendly and helpful. Next is to set up a meeting with Bon Appetit, either the executive chef or manager, they haven't told me yet which one. I am approaching this as a joint effort, we supply some GF items they prepare some GF meals for him regularly so he is included in the social world that food is for us all. I put an email into the Stanford Celiac student group who posted here, haven't gotten anything back though.Since so many school and resaurants are willing to do this, I don't see how the school cooks can say no. And frankly I don't expect to be told no. The disability office will be a good asset. Thanks for the Harvest House referral, the lady there gave us the GF tour to start us off, what a find. I plan on doing a once monthly stock up trip and useing the discount they gave us on check out. I was researching fun things to do in Concord (turns out there aren't any) and stumbled across this health food store called Harvest House. http://www.harvesthouse.com/ I thought, hey, why not, maybe we can get lunch there- and their web site said they had a lot of GF stuff. I went in and saw a bunch of (wheat) crackers and wasn't that impressed- until DH pointed to these huge horizontal freezers labelled GF Foods. They were completely full of every Kinnikinick product EVER, including their bagels, donuts, cinnamon rolls, muffins, breads- EVERYTHING! Also they had Food For LIfe Brown rice wraps, which I've been looking for forever. I picked up a few things (chocolate

donuts and maple donuts) and moved on- they had entire aisles with NOTHING BUT GF Stuff! I was so overwhelmed I just stood in the middle of the aisle like a goldfish in headlights... Gluten free pantry, Ener-g foods,Glutino, Tinkyada (I actually bought this ridiculous pasta in cute kid shapes by them)-they had everything except chebe....So many GF snack bars, cookies, crackers... everything! Completely amazing. Definitely check them out! PS the one thing they DIDN't HAVE was the oreo subs, so sad...
