That's helpful!...your insurance company paid after you had the procedure...

were you going for approval and didn't get an answer before your approval

date?? How did that work?

Sort-of.....my policy had a specific exclusion for any treatment of morbid

obesity, including surgery. I had sent in an appeal to the HR Department of

my husband's employer (Self-Insured Company), and though we didn't have an

answer, we went ahead with the surgery for scheduling purposes and also b/c

my husband said I should. He believed this was the best and only option for

me and was willing to do anything to allow me this chance at a better life.

We would have had to really struggle financially if the insurance had not

been approved, but he felt there was no price for my health and happiness.

We received all of the money due us about 2 1/2 months after the surgery. I

fully believe that it was all due to God...including the timing!!
