Guest guest
I had decided to do the same thing...sleep training didn't even start (again) until after about 3 months in the band. I knew that it was temporary and that any poor sleep habits that I started could be undone. Most sleep experts say that you should wait to start sleep training until a time when something different is not going on. They don't usually give an example of a band, but they include anything that could cause discomfort and I think that a band should be included. My was such a poor sleeper due to reflux and food allergy issues that took us months to resolve so I did a TON of reading to get ideas. In the end, they all pointed to the fact that I couldn't really sleep train until I got her physical discomforts resolved. Wouldn't you know that she got her band at about the same time that we got the other issues resolved? Because also breastfead, I would put her in bed with me when she woke up in the middle of the night and just nurse her back to sleep. She would stay with me in bed for the rest of the night. Now, she usually sleeps the night in her toddler bed. We're still working on going to sleep without a battle, but she does go down in her own bed without nursing. So, we are living proof that you can undo anything that you might do temporarily just to get through this period in the band. , mom to , 2.5 years STARband grad, May 2009 Chiro and CST land Re: New band and sleeping tips? Aww ,I'm sorry to hear that your LO still gets up that much....sorry for youand for my future as well! I had read about 4 month sleep regressionbefore, and like you said, I think it is just the teething/bandcoincidence that leads them to being a general wreck! I am guessingthat with the band, I have to take it as it comes (sleep) and possiblyattempt some sort of sleep training once he graduates from the band.We go to our first follow up appt. tomorrow so I am looking forward toseeing the difference and what the clinician says!-Christy> > > >> > > >> > > > My LO just got his DOC band yesterday and at first, everythingwas> > > > suprisingly good.
