If your son is still only 6.5 months old, he still has a lot of growth left in

him. If I found myself facing the decision you are facing, I would say that

even if he is measuring in the normal range, I would wear the helmet as long as

the ortho will let me, just to get as much correction as he could. Just my

opinion.

were told that statistically his numbers were in the normal range. We're

debating if we should discontinue the helmet or keep going. I still notice a

flat spot but am worried that this as good as it will get. Does anyone know

what numbers we could hope for at this point (6.5 months)? I'm not sure what

all of the numbers mean but I'm posting the highlighted ones in hopes that

someone knows if they are great or there is room for improvement. The numbers

are based on star band measurements. Thanks for your help.

His numbers sound like the normal range, but measurements aren't everything.

They only measure the head at certain places, and the head is a 3 dimensional

object. If you feel his flat spot could improve, I would suggest continuing a

bit longer. Even a week or two might help given he is still young. At his age he

is still growing a lot. You will need your ortho to support this decision, since

he/she will have to adjust the band as needed. You can't keep the band on unless

it is fitting properly and has room for growth.
