Do it yourself to show him. Even a half a teaspoon can get you going! Just remember to do it when you can be home for 8 hours (and not overnight when you need to sleep) because it just keeps coming! Follow it off with a mild coffee enema (1/2 teaspoon in gallon water) and you can get really HIGH. YOO HA!! CM :-)
Guest guest
What about the citrate of magnesium (10 oz). Its in the coca cola flush for the next day. It looks like a soda pop, and is fizzy. Lemon lime flavor. Its mostly used to clean you out for medical exams. Colon and when they need a clear shot of your kidneys. Boy does it clean you out. Ask anyone that has ever used it, its powerful stuff. Thats why I want to do the coca cola flush. I don't know which is better. > > > > > Oh, he won't do the epsom salts. Sigh....... Guest guest
Here is the link for all the flushes I have seen on the cure zone. The flush I told you about is the classic coke flush that has the 10 oz of citrate of magnesium. I'm not saying to do this flush I'm saying that if he hates epsom salt its something to look into. I have no experience with flushes, but there is someone here that does this flush and likes it a lot. So it works. The group will give you their feed back on it. The citrate of magnesium can be bought at the pharmacy. Well anything tastes batter than the epsom salt. I can tolerate a table spoon to a glass of juice but thats about it. Good luck. I myself is only doing gently cleansing, and dietary changes to get some relief from the bloating, till I get my ultrasound. Then I will decide which way to go. Good luck. Guest guest
Just wondering what people think I should do: I thought I had a parasite and went to the doc in Mar 05: tested positive for anti-gliadin antibody (I think TTG) Mar 05: went on gluten free diet; didn't see a huge difference. Mar 06: tested positive for celiac gene Mar-present: At advice of gastroenterologist, did a gluten challenge- didn't really have major symptoms. Should I do a biopsy? Anyone have any stories on what its like? It seems as if I'm allergic gluten, but being off it never really made me feel 100% better. joan
Guest guest
Joan, I feel your pain. I'm in a similar situation. I have tested positive for the IGg antibody but have not had the biopsy done yet. Not sure if I will. I avoid gluten but still have an upset stomach every day. I also, however, eat out in a restaurant at least once a week. I always explain that I cannot have gluten but you never know what kind of surface they are cooking on...there's always a risk of cross contamination. They also may not know how to look for hidden gluten sources like soy sauce and partially hydrogenated vegetable oil or modified food starch. Eating at home, however, I still have stomach issues, even though I am preparing my food. A lot of people who cannot eat gluten also cannot (at least temporarily) consume lactose or soy. I am hoping to get tested for those allergies when I see my doctor next month. Also, make sure your lipsticks and hand lotions are GF. Anything that might go in your mouth should not have gluten. Possibly you are consuming gluten without realizing it. It's amazing to me how many things contain gluten. I even can't kiss my husband after he drinks beer or has a sandwich. Just think about all of the other things (non food, too) that might have gluten and see if you are possibly consuming gluten unintentionally. Any scratched pots or pans that have been used to cook wheat products....a toaster that is shared with regular bread....all of these are possible contamination sources. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Others will address this more fully. Remember that improvement for CD is largely based on healing, which can take a long time. Older people may never see an improvement, but at least damage isn't increasing for them. Just as an another voice, having a more definitive diagnosis may be extremely useful in getting others (including hospitals and family members) to respect your need to be GF. It will also help you to stick to a GF diet. Being GF is a major, life-long commitment. You don't want to do it unnecessarily, and you must do it to lead a healthy life if you have CD. Having an official, positive diagnosis could be a negative in getting health insurance, however. Check for other sources of gastro-intestinal problems, such as lactose/casein intolerance, which often goes with CD. The biopsy, if done with anesthetic, as it should be, is no problem. It's done by endoscopy, via the mouth, so you don't even have to take a laxative unless a colonoscopy is done at the same time. Your doctor should check for stomach cancer when he checks for CD. Ask ahead of time to make sure this will happen. Go to celiac.com for more information on CD. Best wishes. H. In a message dated 5/18/06 10:52:20 AM, jmardesi@... writes: Should I do a biopsy?
