November 3, 2001

Jim Buck Ross Agricultural Museum Forestry Building -- , MS

Cost: $50/person before October 12th

$70/person from October 12th - 24th

Dr. Cave and Dr. Holmes will be just returning from the DAN conference in San

Diego, CA and will share with us all the newest information. Please note that

there will be no on-site registration. This event is a fundraiser for Unlocking

Autism - Mississippi. In an effort to keep costs as low as possible, we have to

know in advance how many people will attend since lunch is included. We will be

honoring Dr. Cave and Dr. Holmes during lunch for their dedication to our

children and to finding the keys to " unlock autism " .

Dr. Cave has a new book just out -- " What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About

Children's Vaccinations " . We will have the books for sale that day and Dr. Cave

will be signing books from 9:00am -- 10:30am.

Sleep Inn on Lakeland Drive has offered a special rate of $59 per room with no

additional charge for more than one person in the room. They have also agreed

to run a shuttle to the Ag Museum if that is a need.

..

We are expecting a great turnout for this and we are limited to 400 people. I

would encourage you to get your registration form in as early as possible to

ensure that you have a spot.

The national Unlocking Autism people will be at the conference and they are

bringing the picture boards!!! I saw these in Washington and they are so moving

-- to see all the beautiful faces of children living with this disorder -- it is

truly moving!!! If you have not sent in a picture of your child please take the

time to do so. You will have to mail it with a signed consent form. You can

print one out from the Unlocking Autism website. This is the address to the

page with the form:

http://www.unlockingautism.org/index2.html

The money raised from this conference will be used for autism awareness in our

state. Some of our plans include:

Compiling and distributing " Parent Packets " for newly diagnosed children.

Holding a conference in the Spring of 2002 focused on advocating for your child.

Which will include meeting with officials at the State Capitol.

Holding an autism awareness rally at the State Capitol in April. This is a unique

opportunity to support autism while getting wonderful information to help your

child at the same time!!!

Please reply with your address in an email if you are interested in recieving a

brochure! Thanks!
